Video game difficulty setting question

I’m very poor at FPS games so I always put the difficulty on the easiest setting.
My question is if, even on the easiest setting, and I still have trouble getting through a level, do the game programmers normally make it easier after each failed attempt?
Like after four or five tries do they make it where it is ultra easy to get through?
I’m talking single player campaigns of course.

If it's on the lowest setting, that's all there is. It won't be made easier

What game are you playing? Many games have implemented adaptive difficulty elements over the last 15-20 years. Basically, if you're doing really well, it'll give you less ammo/resources, tweak enemies' health up a bit, make them do more damage, etc. The reverse will happen if you're doing really poorly.
This is by no means an every-game thing though and will vary title to title

If you keep dying while in human form in Demons Souls, they actually make the game much harder. The better you do the easier it gets.
I’m not joking or lying

You have to go out of you way to die on the easiest difficulties.

some games do adjust. A lot more utilize this compared to "the old days". However if you have it set to low already im not sure it does in that case, depends on the game obviously.

Not trying to flame, just curious what game you still struggle on on the easiest difficulty? I feel like modern games have a super easy mode where it's near impossible to die so people can just cruise through the story.

Games like Wolfenstein, COD and Battlefield. I’m absolutely terrible with the thumb sticks on my PlayStation controller for aiming! I mean TERRIBLE! I know some games have aim assist but even then I suck.
Miss the days when I used to play with a mouse on my desktop but those days are over. Mouse aiming was effortless.

This is exactly why I paid the extra expense of desktop gaming over buying another hard-to-find console. Don't get me wrong, consoles are great for most types of gaming, but for first person shooters, nothing beats a decent PC.

I'm fully convinced people who can aim perfectly with controllers on FPS have made deals with the devil.
I tried it once a few years ago and quit after about 3 minutes. frick that.

I've always wondered if some games implemented this. Wonder if I've played any games using this.
Probably not the same but it sounds like when you are playing Mario Kart single player and the computer always catches up no matter what.

Folks are not aiming with pinpoint accuracy raw on controller, even at the highest level of play. Just the nature of the sticks.

I remember how good I used to be in the halo 3 days with controller. Was always in the top 1% of leaderboards. Not nearly as good anymore since for one, I don't game nearly as much, and two I play PC exclusively now and play all FPS games (except Halo for nostalgia's sake) with KB&M.

I'm sorry bossman, you're just gonna have to "GIT GUD" or just accept the fact that your fine motor controls suck.
I could literally beat any FPS game on easy with my toes.
Hell, I was a top 1% player on controller in competitive FPS games when I still played on console. But there's a guy on YouTube that was born with literal chicken wings for arms and has better aim than me. He uses one chicken wing for the trigger buttons, his shoulder to cradle the controller, uses his face to control the left stick and his other chicken with for the right stick and the buttons.

I refuse to believe anyone can "die" playing a game on journalist difficulty. Many games do adaptive difficulty if im not mistaken the original last of us on ps3 didnt invent the idea but brought it wide making sure you were always tight on resources relative to your chosen difficulty.

I’m one of those that pretty much every fps game I have to lower the aiming sensitivity or else I’m all over the damn screen.
Only suggestion I got.
Also wanted to add some of the games have where you can adjust the x and y sensitivity. Might want to play with the settings and find you a sweet spot.

When my PC became outdated I bought a PS3 and got pretty good at aiming with the sticks. It took a lot of practice and I never was as good as on PC.
I built a PC and within a week of playing FPS with a mouse I lost all ability to aim on console.
If you enjoy FPS I'd invest in a PC. Nothing beats a mouse for clicking heads.
