It is Bioshock in underlying message.
Basically this is supposed to be what happens with laissez faire free market capitalism if allowed to continue, as viewed by communists.
Each corporation is basically Andrew Ryan, creating colonies run completely by them away from the government. . .minus the weird Nazi Scientist shite.
Give these colonies another 20 years, and they'll have Big Daddy's patrolling the streets.
Everything else is Borderlands, with less cartoony graphics

I don't get the hate for the graphics. I think it looks great. So nice to have a colorful game and not the same dreary miserable gray/brown that 99% of games use.
It's the chromatic aberration. Makes the whole game look like it has vaseline smeared on it.

I am really digging this so far
-MY DIALOGUE CHOICES MATTER!!!!
-Gun-play is fluid and fun
-Characters have some personality
-Doesn't feel too easy or too hard
-Perk and skill systems feel meaningful
-The actual dialogue is refreshing
I have really enjoyed it. Hopefully we'll get some expansions or something because I could play it all damn day.

i wont be doing the companions deal, not big on AI running around and mouthing off with me
I usually hate companions but so far I've enjoyed the first one. IDK if I'll go out of my way to get more but she's solid.

I have played a few hours now and have completed the initial Edgewater story, gotten the power and lifted off. My initial feel for the game is that it is so far much better than I expected for a AA game. There are so many comparisons that you could make but honestly I have not seen a game that had matched the skills, decisions, inventory management, and game play as successfully as this game. I hope the story remains strong and interesting.

I like her as well but I am trying the Vicar next. Paraveti with an assault rifle is money

Just made it off the first planet. The game is fun, like fallout games it will drive us OCD loot everything players nuts.

I probably put 8 hours in Edgewater before leaving.
I am playing on hard and the combat is a little wonky.
Sometimes I wreck shop but a lot of time I get my add hsnded to me and I have to run away a lot. A lot

You can have two companions at a time.

I have played for like five hours on normal and I am constantly running out of health masks and I get caught somewhere where I have to hide to let my health replenish lol.
I’m sure I’m doing something wrong

This game seems to have a lot of varying opinions about the difficulty. I am not especially good at games, but I have always had a ton of ammo, a ton of heath inhalers, and I only died like 5-6 times the entire time I was on the first world. On hard.
That was after listening to a few minutes of the giant Bombcast where the guy who was playing on hard was dying a lot and always out of ammo. So, I don’t know why that hasn’t happened to me.
Maybe I stumbled across a good build (I have pretty much ignored melee) or a good weapon (mainly using a plasma rifle).
I do use the time slowing mechanic a lot.

Have not stumbled across a plasma rifle yet.

Some things I have noticed is that it's much harder to aim/shoot on console than on PC. There doesn't appear to be any aim assist and the deadzone feels off.
That being said, some enemies are resistant to certain types of damage. For robots, I find the best strategy is to beat them with a big stick. You can also upgrade your guns to do more damage.

I’ve been melee’ing a lot.
I left the first world this morning and I’m on Gatekeeper now. Level 7. Have no idea where I stand in terms of power.

Here’a my problem, I drank too many beers during the LSU game and tried to play last night, I found myself not being able to pay attention enough to all the conversations and now I have like 10 quests but no idea what is going on in the game after landing on the groundbreaker haha

I haven't used the plasma rifle due to it being lower dps than my other weapons. Am I missing something?
