Looking like a ton of fun. An original story cut in the mold of the old Fallout titles.

It's also free with game pass

If it is 75% as good as New Vegas it could be game of the year for me.

I downloaded it last night but haven’t started it yet. I recently found my old 360 and my copy of NCAA ‘10, and that has been occupying pretty much all of my gaming time. Coach J. Freshwater is dominating in his first year at ULL on his way to the big leagues.

Reading about it got to playing New Vegas again, and I'm loving it. I'm sure I'll play Outer Worlds at some point, but the fact that a good portion of it is linear is kind of putting me off. That shouldn't be a knock on the game, we don't need every game to be an open world sandbox mess, but I got myself psyched for another Fallout game with a different name.

Believe it's out Friday.

It's probably going to be a little rudimentary compared to AAA games because it didn't have a huge investment, but it's going to be awesome just like NV was.

Microsoft bought Obsidian so I wouldn't be surprised if they're already preparing to throw big money into Outer Worlds 2.

Downloaded it last night and the file was less than 40 GB which makes me think you are right about being a little rudimentary.

If it's less than 40 then that makes sense. I think it's technically classified as a AA game, so those expecting it to be huge like skyrim will be disappointed.

The next one will probably be way more developed.

Yeah, Microsoft purchased Obsidian after they were well into development on this so I hope the reception on this is good so we get a fully funded sequel

This is one of the games Obsidian showed Microsoft when they were looking to buy them.

I'm hoping Microsoft will give them a blank check for the next one.

Since New Vegas is my most favorite game of all time, I was looking forward to this. Will wait for it on Steam next year.

May put Greedfall on hold to check this out, it hasn’t really pulled me in like I was hoping. Outer Worlds looks promising

Reviews are looking better than I expected. Sitting at 86 on metacritic with some real high scores (9.3 on Game Informer, 9 on GameSpot, etc.):

I've read that the main storyline is around 30 hours but you can get lost pretty easily in all the side plots and faction wars. Similar to how fallout 3's side stories were. Fun and memorable but not so overwhelming that you get burnt out.

Again, it's not a knock. My expectations of what this would be got out of hand and that's on me. I'll probably relent and get it close to launch anyways. I'll just see how long New Vegas holds me over.

I just did the part where the sniper in the t-rex statue wants you to find out who sold out his wife to slavers
and bring them out to the street in front of the statue and you have to put on the red beret to let him know that's the person and you watch them get their head blown off and the sniper decides to be your first companion and this game is sooooooooooooo good.

Man I love New Vegas. Those mini-side quests were so interesting. I really wanted to know who sold his wife to slavers.

Vault 11 was insane.

Check it out.

Played through 3 a few times but never finished NV. I feel I need to streamline the main story or I'll get lost and still not finish.

Boone. He is the only companion I really used once I got him. He's extremely overpowered.
