Once you do it gets much easier. Especially after you start exploring other planets.
I have only died once or twice since then.

Doing the sneaky sniper run with dialogue and tech mixed in.

Maybe melee next round.

I’m liking the scenery and gameplay. Enemies are pretty varied and decent too.

Only complaint I have is that I can’t keep my weapon holstered because every time I have to interact with something it brings it out.

I'm used to games where the NPCs get pissed if you point a weapon at them so that does bug me.

Yup, only thing that got me since leaving was the cavern fight on Nyoka's side quest.

My only tip would be to start on hard. Normal basically becomes story mode once you are loaded with plasma weapons.

Saw that it’s possible to beat the game in 20 minutes if you make your character dumb as possible

That’s one thing that I haven’t brought myself to do yet....just kill a quest giver.

So what's the consensus? Bad? Meh? Pretty good? Incredible?

Very good, especially for a AA title, I enjoyed it, and games lately don't seem to do much for me.

A good build video:
LINK

The 20+ minute video summed up: put all of your skill points in getting your "inspiration" up to 60. Once you do that, your companions give you massive benefits to pretty much all of your combat skills. Once you do that, put skill points towards science/tech/stealth. The science skills (somehow) will boost combat skills via companions.

And the vid answers a question I posted earlier: persuade covers almost all conversation checks.

ETA: Do the "Deadly Demonstrations" (companions earn 50% more XP) ASAP, then do your best to all-but-kill your enemies, letting companions finish them off. And Vicar and Parvati are the best companions.

Waiting for this game to get better.

2 hours into making it to the Groundbreaker and find it really boring so far.

Maybe it's just not enough action for me.

Plenty of action, but it has similar issues to Greedfall in that enemy and asset variety is way too small. After about 5 hours of play, it's just the same thing over and over again.

I have hit what appears to be a gamebreaking bug. Ugh.

Is it the Nyoka bug? Because I’m getting the same one. It won’t give me any dialog options. Looks like I’m just not going to have her as a companion.

Really solid. Feels like what Fallout 4 SHOULD have been.

Lacks in depth but I didn't expect Skyrim or anything. I feel like what they did, they did well. I just wish they could have expanded on it more.

If they stick with this formula, style, and gameplay I think the followup could be amazing.

Yes. I haven’t played since I encountered it.
