Best top down zelda game I have ever played was a Link between worlds. I hope it gets ported to the switch for people that missed out

I agree. Another one I forgot on Switch online that is very underrated is Minish Cap. Just like Link Between Worlds, the game gimmick brings in a lot of fun variables.

A Link Between Worlds is, I believe, the only Zelda game I have never played. I want to play it because I love top down Zelda games and this one is a direct sequel to A Link to the Past, one of my favorite games ever. I’ve never owned a 3DS tho and refuse to buy one to play one 11 year old game. If they ever port it to a console I will buy it day one.

I don't think it gets much recognition but Cadence of Hyrule is one of my favorite Zelda games ever.
The remixed soundtrack is killer and the gameplay is solid. There is even a casual mode where you aren't locked into the rhythm movement system.

These lame Zelda graphics are ok for the side games but they hopefully won't ever bring them back for the flagship mainline games.
Wind Waker was ok because the innovative story made up for it and I could get past it for a one time thing. At least it made Twilight Princess after it that much more awesome with how good it looked.

Look, I don't agree with his point, but don't besmirch TP, sir.

I agree with you on Wind Waker, I know most people disagree, but the art style took me completely out of the game. I personally still think the best version of graphics were OoT and MM for the 64.

I enjoy this art style more than Twilight Princess honestly

I've found my first issue with the game. It's minor and has nothing to do with the story, but I'll post a spoiler warning just in case:
Spoilers
I started roaming around just intending to unlock the whole map. There are a few places that are between worlds/towns/cities that remained in the shroud. I used my bed/trampoline contraptions to climb into these areas. There are some areas in the bottom middle and the left side of the Deku area that have monsters and walkways, but there is literally nothing else.
No treasure chests. No caves. Nothing.
I know you have to have barriers between areas to make the game work, but at least give a small reward for the user figuring out how to get there. It just seemed very out of character for a Zelda game.

beat the gerudo section today, was fun. i think the smoothie system is kinda lame though

I completed the Zora section and am in the midst of the next major quest chain/dungeon (not spelling it out for spoilers).
The Zora temple area & boss fight was fun.

Nintendo has gone woke they made Zelda fat

Just beat it tonight.
Didn’t 100% but I did a fairly significant amount of side quests.
Not the greatest Zelda experience I’ve ever had but a very competent game. I was initially nervous about the switch in protagonist but most of Zelda’s mechanics worked well.
The map ultimately just made me want to play link to the past again.

Just healed the Hyrule Castle rift and that damned purple crystal made an appearance again. I'm looking forward to seeing where I should go next, because there hasn't been any encounters with the Goron or Rito yet.

I think I might need to take a Switch from one of the kids for this. I haven't used them since TOTK

It's a lot of fun. I was cautiously optimistic when it was announced, but it plays better than it appears in the trailers.

It’s a Zelda game. I doubt I’ll hate it. I’m all about this franchise.

It's heresy, but the only ones I haven't been able to get into are the N64 titles.
