re: Seems like every positive Twitter review for Star Wars: Outlaw is from a "pronouns in bio"

Again, they only published this.
You grossly underestimate the amount of influence a publisher has on developers. Massive may be a cut above Ubi's core studios, but they still receive a great deal of directives and pressure from them. It's like the movie industry - the more expensive the production = the more control a publisher exerts. On stuff as colossal as Avatar and Star Wars, Ubisoft is involved in every step of the development process

I'm not disagreeing with that. But if we're comparing mainline Ubisoft releases vs this game, the quality isn't comparable. Say what you want about Ubisoft's style of open world game, I get it's not a lot of people's bread and butter, but the AC and FC games are really well crafted and deep. Deep, maybe, to a fault, considering Valhalla's world was amazing but just too much and at times confusing, but Outlaws just isn't up to snuff from what we're used to seeing from a Ubisoft studio.
Again, I think Massive did a great job with The Division, but like I said before, it doesn't sound like working on a Star Wars game is all that fun, and they just came short.

Yeesh... a game that's 100% stealth that only gives you 3 tools within the stealth?
That's sounds abysmally boring.

Massive is literally owned by Ubisoft, so I don't understand this debate
One could argue why a B-Tier studio was working on an open world Star Wars game of all things though

Again, Microsoft owns Bethesda, but they had nothing to do with the development of Starfield.
My point is I don't think this is indictive of the overall quality of Ubisoft projects. I'm sure they had input but Massive is it's own studio and can handle game development.

Starfield was in development before Microsoft bought Bethesda. Ubisoft has owned Massive since 2008.

So you blame Microsoft for Starfield's short comings?
Bethesda has certain flaws that come baked into the cake.
Nothing in Starfield surprised me after the Elder Scrolls and Fallouts

Yeah it's really not an apples to apples comparison.

With as many bugs it shipped with, I don’t think their testers did either.

Starfield was not nearly as buggy as their previous releases

Yeah, the bugs arent even remotely the biggest problem with that pos

Skill Up didn't give it a recommend but it was fairly close to a recommend. If you like Ubisoft games, I think there is enough for those folks to enjoy it. It doesn't appear to be the outright bomb that the negative youtubers are saying it is. That would be Rings of Power season 2.
I don't like Ubisoft games so a Star Wars skin isn't going to make me like it. Most of the reviewers I pay attention to say it is bland Ubisoft. Maybe a deep discount buy but not anywhere close to $70.

I actually liked the main character as well as most of the side characters.
The main story had some pretty entertaining setpieces.
The stealth and the overreliance on it was pretty bad though. The stealth honestly reminded me of Plague Tale Innocence more than Assassin's Creed which was pretty weird.
The faction system ended up being kind of a nothing burger tbh. It essentially amounts to being able to move around certain areas without being shot at, but past the first few hours, the game kinda forgets about all that in lieu of having you fight Stormtroopers for the overwhelming majority of the game.
Outside of a handful of handcrafted side missions, most of the side content felt like it was a radiant quest in Skyrim.
I'd say the boring open world and lack of interesting activities or motivation to explore was its worst aspect.
Temmin Wexley from the Aftermath trilogy is in the game only it feels like they aged him up about 10 years and changed his race. The age up may have just been because the developers didn't feel like designing a child character model

I see people all the time who do it just out of respect for those it matters to. They aren't bothered by it because they aren't crybaby snowflakes.
So they are trying to be woke. Kind of weird to hate something you are.

At which point you’ve defined “woke” to include “endeavoring to be kind to your fellow humans” and declared anything and everything “woke” to be inherently bad at best and inherently evil at worst, maybe it’s time for a bit of soul searching and self reflection.

Don’t own any, outside of VTSAX. Well done on outing yourself as having absolutely nothing useful or interesting to say, though

Yes, the pronoun wars are bordering on religion for some of they/them/us at this point. Let’s say that I accept your proposition for the sake of argument. Normal people make minor concessions to make mentally unstable happy all the fricking time. In fact, the more mentally unstable someone is, the more it’s expected that people will make even major concessions around them. I could give countless examples, but I’m disinclined because I have a feeling it would bog us down in detail. But I don’t think any reasonable person can deny my overarching premise
