Is the series s or x the more powerful of the two I always get them confused?

I think the s is the lower one correct? If so its almost laughable as a "next gen" console. And xboxs stupid rule that all their games have to playable on both likely has hurt some of their product.

The ps5 is a very very good console. I just think these prices are getting fricking crazy

Sony seems to be abandoning the business model of breaking even or losing money on consoles in order to add numbers to their ecosystem in hopes that they buy the monthly sub and is taking the Nintendo approach of trying to turn a profit off of a console.

Microsoft has an opportunity to capitalize now like the 7th generation of consoles, Sony still has their exclusives but the majority of "gamers" are usually playing a sports game or FPS.

The ease and cost effectiveness of it is better than a computer.... until prices get up to $700-$800. Now that computers connect easily via HDMI, it really is becoming unnecessary to have a console.

To go even further, you can get a Nvidia GeForce Now subscription for $20/month and play games at max settings on your tv using a Chromecast/Google TV.

You'd have to be retarded to pay that.

Definitely getting a pc when next gen comes out. Basically paying 1k for console + ps plus. Not worth it

They were trying to strike while the GPU market is a mess. Now, most of them can be found at MSRP.

Why people don't build PC's now I don't get, more bang for your buck and it super easy. Pre built PC with more power can be had for the same or cheaper prices.

They can just get a ROG ally or steamdeck for similar performance of PS5. good time to sell your PS5 for $300 used is crazy.

So as a guy that knows nothing about PCs, which pre built PCs would you recommend for best performance that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Asking because I may get into the PC side of gaming since the consoles are getting out of control. And the fact that everyone says how much better games run on PC compared to consoles.

Not my gig anymore, I once built a $5k PC, but I am sure someone here can help.

What is your budget? If you are trying to buy a prebuilt PC that matches the performance of a console for the same price, you will be disappointed.

Yeah ive read somewhere like 40% of ps players still havent upgraded from ps4 to ps5. I imagine sony is assuming GTA6 will make that number drop considerably

I'm one of those people and WAS planning to buy a ps5 just to play GTA.

Now that's out the window. Not because I cant afford it, but simply because it feels like I'm getting ripped off buying a 6 year old console for more money than it originally cost on launch.

I have put together a nice PC and my consoles collect dust.

I hope that Rockstar doesn't take forever to port GTA 6 to PC, but I cannot see myself spending the money for a lesser experience only to have to double dip 12-18 months later for the experience I actually wanted on my PC specs.

I can understand first party studios having console exclusivity windows in order to move units, but rockstar should be releasing day one on all viable platforms.
