There is a really good graphic on Reddit of how to track down a 3 paw. If you can get it to go down to 2 paws you can find it.

Did the update and now I freeze every time I capture something. AR is off currently

So how do you increase a gym's level? There's a Level 2 red gym near me. I'm on the red team. How would I go about increasing it to a 3 so I could get a spot?

Fight the pokemon there and win.
you gain gym prestige by fighting them, you get more prestige depending on if you take down 1, 2, 3 defenders in a row with 1 pokemon
then use POTIONS to restore your favorite battle pokemon and try again

Can I assume lvl 6 would be the highest level gym?

Fight there over and over to raise the XP. It will level up and free up another spot.
I've had a gym held for the past 3 days, and it just got taken over while I've been at work. There will be no survivors.

I messed with this with my daughter yesterday and because I work in the field, she asked me to keep it on and catch some. I caught her several but when about to pull into the driveway getting home, I decided to go to the end of our road and down the dirt road that ends at a bayou. On that road, I caught the rhyno one and a Chancey. It's some yellow guy holding something. Just checked the lists and the Chancey one is listed as top teir rare. Are those lists legit?

I was getting annoyed with the game after my 10k egg hatched the pokemon version of feces, but I fired it up at home a few minutes ago and this guy was hanging out across the street:

Basically when you are low level you have almost no shot at the good pokemon right, or is it just a very low chance at one?
