The Brandr Group has filed a cease and desist letter with a California court against EA Sports in regards to the development of the latest NCAA Football video game. If granted, the game will be forced to halt production until the impending lawsuit is settled in the courts.

These people can just frick off.
I'm curious if this stuff goes on much longer, if EA will just randomize all the players and numbers and just release it.

I’m shocked
Combine this with the uncertainty of the future of NIL, and nobody should get their hopes up for NCAA football

Digging up my old versions for the 360 are seeming like a much better option right about now.

Not surprised.

Just so no one else has to look it up:
The Brandr Group currently has agreements with the following schools: UNC, Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, App State, Indiana, Michigan State, UF, NC State, Villanova, Nebraska, Maryland, Marquette, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Xavier, Purdue, and UGA.
That’s a couple of big names…

This.
There should do completely random players. Let the community mod. Give a big middle finger to the people doing this litigation.
Did they already secure rights from the schools? If so, then just go with that.

It's madden with different stadiums. Their dev cost is nothing.

Let them do it. I played as College Station, Provo, South Bend, State College, and Raleigh before and I can do it again.

Schools would bend the knee if the game moved forward without them. They wouldn't risk the lack of exposure

We just need this one game on the newer consoles. Just one please. Sheesh. Then we can update it ourselves. So frustrating.

Get yourself an emulator on your PC and play old NCAAs. I suggest NCAA 06 with the Next mod

This is all over less than $250/player?
Modern college athletics has completely jumped the shark I don’t care if it implodes completely at this point.

This. Just leave NCAA out of it too. Call it College Football or something.

The gaming community has already shown they are willing to do the mods.
EA should just release a generic version of the game and let the community mod it.
Also, anyone wanna take a road trip to Brandr Group's offices and beat the shite out of some people?

This. All EA has to do is announce the release the game without those 18 schools.
The backlash from fans of those schools not in the game would be huge. All EA has to say is the school didn’t allow us to include them in the game.
Plus since it would screw over the student athletes at those schools, EA has all the leverage here.
EA has way too much money to make by not releasing it on schedule.

EA should do generic players as a baseline. Any player who opts in gets a free copy of the game.
Most players will gladly opt in because it's awesome to see yourself in the game. It's like being on a baseball card was for earlier generations.

I never bought into the likeness anyway.
It was computer-generated characters and they didnt even have names.
I could argue the linemen on LSU looked just like the ones on hawaii. And looked just like the ones i would recruit.
