I've had to playtest Skate for like 6 months now and that game sucks but you gotta do it if you want to stay in good standing and get into all the tests.

In-person testing means the game is still aways out, there are always at least 2 remote tests over a month or two when it's closer to release.

If it's anything like the madden vids I've seen on youtube it won't be worth playing

So would you say July is a little too optimistic?

Understand the skepticism but all of the alleged leaks say that while it is on the same engine it will not be a dupe of Madden.

I'm excited for this. I really am, but like "not a dupe" in what sense? I will almost guarantee this game will have animations stripped directly from Madden.

It won’t be 1:1 but more like .98:1

Wasn’t the old game on the same engine as Madden as well?

It’s a completely different group of people working on this. I think it will be similar but not a copy

People don’t really seem to understand what a gaming engine is.

Just think of it as the programming/development software that the developers use to build the game. My company uses Unreal Engine for engineering animations. So yes, NCAA is being built in that same platform as Madden, but if it’s a completely different team of developers then we could end up with two completely different games very easily

They announced a few days ago that College Gameday would be included and Rece, Desmond, & Herbstreit have recorded lines.

I don’t really care about this but at least it’s some news

It was pretty cool in the PS2 days when they added the CGI gameday. I also liked the Sports Illustrated covers, but I doubt that's a possibility anymore

Albeit meaningless, it was a cool immersion feature that went away when the game moves to the PS3 gen.

It also more than likely had a larger affect on me because I was a naive kid at the time, so I doubt I'll care as much that it's in the game now, but at least it appears they are trying to recapture some of the magic of what made that game the best sports game back in the day.

But the problem is Madden hasn't been able to get very basic things right despite working with this engine for years.

If man to man coverage is broken, it's hard to make a good football game.

Madden has the CBs running the routes on top of the WRs haha.

Someone actually made a detailed post on how madden is designed to have 1 route "open" on every play.

It isn't so much playing football as it trying to game the engine

Edit: I was able to find the post explaining it better than I can.

Been playing the shite out of FCCD.

Unfortunately, it's already gotten pretty easy on Legendary. May have to stop using NIL to recruit or stop taking in the best transfers.

Assuming they won’t release this after the CFB season starts, I’m growing more and more nervous that it won’t come out this year.

We are currently a little more than 6 months away from the 2024 CFB season, and I’d say 6-9 months is kind of the average time between release date announcement and the release date itself for a big game like this.

You’d also think EA would want to announce it ASAP to build hype and anticipation.

If we don’t hear anything by the end of the month I’d expect it to be delayed again.
