Hidden Gems - Nobody Bought Edition

This will be my last attempt to push some folks to play 3 games that nobody played. In the middle of a Portia play through and still upset that this game tanked at the store.
My Time at Portia - Stardew 2.0. Straight up stole all aspects of Stardew and made it better with tremendous quality of life additions as you level up. Instead of farming, this game focuses on workshop equipment and some farming but you don't need to touch farming. Much longer story, better combat, much better quality of life upgrades. If you didn't mind Stardew graphics don't let the cartoon graphics stop you from playing Portia. I would be surprised if most people who loved Stardew didn't end up loving this one. Easy 80+ hours. Heck, you can have that much just in year 1. You can probably put 200 hours if you have the time setting slowed. My one beef is that it is too chill. I liked rushing the beat the clock in Stardew. In Portia, you just wake up in your bed with no penalty.
Pathfinder Kingmaker - Simply the best CRPG since Baldur's Gate II. Unfortunately the game was released in a shambles so the reviews destroyed it. 4 or 5 months after release, the patches fixed the bugs and they added several quality of life changes that made the core play better. If you like CRPG, I don't understand why you haven't given this one a shot. Great game and cheap as hell anytime steam has a sale. 100+ hours. I think I had 150 but I do every single quest and explore every inch of the map.
Bard's Tale IV - This one isn't for everyone. Some folks don't like the grid based combat but having played the old Bard's Tale games, I think they did a fine job with this spiritual successor to the old franchise. What the screwed up was releasing the game a month or two early. I didn't have any problems with the initial release, but plenty of folks had some graphical issues. I loved the game and the Gaelic score. Loved all of the puzzles and some were actually tough to figure out. The bugs were fixed a few months after release and I think they issued a Director's Cut with additional quality of life features but haven't gotten around to playing it again. I think they state 40+ hours but I put in 80. Twice. I'l probably try out the director's cut before all of the big releases late in the year.
What you got? What are some great games that you don't see anyone playing or talking about?

Yeah, it's rare to see 10 people playing those games at anytime.

Thanks for the recommendations, TigerMyth. Those all sound right up my alley and I haven't tried any of them.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow is highly underrated. Seems to be the black sheep of the franchise for some reason.

Here is one of my recommendations.
Folklore[b] is a 2007 action role-playing video game developed by Game Republic and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game is set in Ireland and the Celtic Otherworld of Irish mythology, centering on a young woman named Ellen, and a journalist named Keats, both playable characters who together unravel the mystery that the quaint village of Doolin hides, the mystery that can only be solved by seeking the memories of the dead in the dangerous, Folk-ridden Netherworld.
The gameplay was a little like Persona or Ni No Kuni, where you could capture different “folk” (based off of Celtic mythology) and each would have a different battle style or attribute.
The two main characters you picked between, Ellen and Keats, had interesting intertwining stories.
I’ll have to look through my PS3 games because I went through a phase of buying interesting non-mainstream games a while back.
Two others that are a lot of fun, but aren’t as mainstream:
Lollipop Chainsaw
Asura’s Wrath

I have played Portia and Pathfinder. I though they sold well considering their genres?
In a similar vein I would suggest the Disgaea series- popular games for people that like them (even with the far-too-anime-for-me characters).

Still playing CS... first played 1.6 in middle school when I was 12. Silver II in CSGO.
I didn't play for a couple years at least though.. used to be LMG rank or something (past Gold Nova 4). I've been ranking up steadily. Pretty sure I am close to Silver III. New monitor is helping me get a lot of 30 bombs.

I read some pretty scathing reviews of Portia so I assumed it didn't sell well and i've seen little to no talk about it here.
Pathfinder was a mess at release so I thought most people here probably skipped it and it is a fantastic game now.
None of the 3 I mentioned have had a thread, at least not one I noticed. There might have been a Pathfinder thread when it came out, but I assume it was ugly in there.
I just assumed the early reviews killed Pathfinder and Bard's Tale. Not sure why there wasn't much hype for Portia. The Gamespot review is one of the worst reviews for a game I've seen on there. After reading it, I'm not convinced the guy even played the game.

I know almost no one IRL who has played this game. Blows my mind.
Not the best cover shooter in all the world, but the story is a unique experience.

I loved the hell out of this game.
FYI - they have a Kickstarter to adapt Wrath of the Righteous to a CRPG as well.

Lost Odyssey - 360
Nier - PS3
Folklore - PS3
Gravity Rush - Vita/PS4
Demon Gaze - Vita
Muramasa: Demon Blade - Wii/Vita
Catherine - PS3/360/PC
Those are what came to mind. Tried to think of games I beat that weren't too popular. Nier and LO are the most popular of that batch, but both easily the best. Loved both a ton.

Thanks for the My Time at Portia recommendation. I loved Stardew Valley and could easily see myself being sucked in to this.

Great graphics and the story was amazing.
One of the last great turn based games out of Japan.
