It's funny that I don't really notice an upgrade. I mean, yeah, if I stop and look it's better, but I'm also looking at it through nostalgic glasses and the OG game looked amazing to me at the time, so I expect this to look good too, which it kinda does.
I played a few levels earlier. Took a minute to figure out how to setup my controller to boxer, but once I did that it was just like riding a bike.
I agree with an earlier poster that it's criminal to charge $50 for this. I have it with game pass, but I think half of that is really what this should cost. You can buy the MCC for $40.

Are you and BulldogXero blind? This game looks worlds better visually than the anniversary lol. If yall just insist on finding something to gripe about with this game, the updated visuals is the last thing to gripe about.

Even though I have game pass, I went ahead and bought it to get early access. The franchise has brought me so much enjoyment, it felt right supporting it and hoping that this inevitably leads to the same treatment for 2 and 3.
Haven't gotten to the DEI moment(s) in the game yet, but even in the first two levels, there were a couple quirks in the dialogue and storyline that I missed, but am ultimately ok about. Main one being the line "I...don't keep it loaded" when MC first gets the pistol. That's more on me playing it a million times and knowing the cadence by heart than it will be affecting the average player and hopefully new audience.

Im comparing the graphics to my nostalgia for the game. When the game came out, it was graphically awesome for the time, so in my mind I always see the game as awesome despite a fresh coat of paint.

Well that's awesome you don't give a frick about 343 changing a classic and cheer for a studio that makes sure the game bows to the new requirements of "modern gaming"
You probably loved the choices of Chris Nolan's new Odyssey as well..Sure why should I give a frick that they race swapped a woman who is supposed to be beautiful to a black chick that is hideous from a story that is one of the pillars of western civ. I mean if I happen to have a strong opinion on this publicly the ONLY thing that could mean is I am just racist and hate black people right? right ?
it's the same thing as what was done to Halo. It's rewriting things just to make people who hate the original source happy. frick doing that and frick people that don't realize what is happening. Why do people not get that games are part of the culture and rewriting that is not cool, its not a "shrug my shoulders i don't care its not important" (i mean it isn't to you obviously, you're just following instructions from mainstream culture whether you realize it or not) It's like the girl bosses at 343 sat down and went "You know..halo CE was a perfect game that founded an entire company's stake into the console world..you know what we should do instead of faithfully making an amazing rendition of it's core campaign as an tribute to that? I've seen all the clips online of the issues with it.. played CE and MCC a bunch and love most things the franchise as put out.
My question would be besides the expensive price point for what it is, are the new missions any good/fun (purely combat/story related, not dialogue) and what are their completion length times?

I plan to, like I am doing in this thread about this topic specifically. It's fine that you want to stand by and be apathetic about everything you don't like and have more important things to do. But don't be surprised when others passionately criticize behaviors they see happening in their favorite hobby.
You seem to be making an argument that my anger and frustration about this game is stupid and a waste of time..And I can agree that YES..If it was only about this specific game it would be..especially in the context of it being only this game. But it isnt just this game is it ? And it isnt just in games is it ? And that is the bigger picture and why it is more frustrating that "Bruh its just one game why care so much , you're so angry"

I offered a 3rd opinion that wasn't in support or opposition to the changes. You're the one that said because of that apathy that I'm gargling Nolan's balls for the Odyssey and supporting the war on the white cisgen patriarchy.
The whole "with us or against us" thing of your argument is asinine. Some of us just don't care. Most of us, I'd argue. All I want to do is have a beer, drive a scorpion through a snowy canyon, and punch some Elites in the face after I get off work today - butch or no butch. That doesn't make me an enlightened moderate. It makes me a guy that is bowing out of that cultural argument because I've realized it has no appreciable impact on my personal life one way or another.

In terms of overall gameplay, it’s very well done. Some people hate how they tweaked the characters but tbh I think that’s very overblown. It stays pretty faithful to the original.

Totally agree. Does anyone know if there are plans to add that down the road? Playing halo and gears of war online bring back some memories.

I don't understand the uproar about lack of Halo CE online multiplayer. It's not like that really took off until H2 anyways. Would be cool to have, but if they do a Halo 2 Evolved and it has it, which I would guess is the plan, then that's better than a half baked CE multiplayer.
