Her character is dead. The game takes place in the afterlife. Having Hollywood hair and makeup would not make any sense.
This trailer has me more excited than when it was just rumored. Now that we know its in the afterlife, there's a possibility she could meet all the Gods Kratos killed including the ones from Greece. Good chance she meets Kratos' first wife and daughter too.

I will say the combat looks fun and fluid. I'm actually looking forward to a game that depicts both Kratos and Laufey, similar to how the Witcher 3 had some gameplay as Ciri. It made for a way to enjoy two different gameplay styles while staying true to the overall story and lore.

the two things I really didn't care for in Ragnarok was the voice acting for Atreus (kind of can't help it since the actor was a full on teenager at that point) and they made Thor a beer belly redneck.
There's so much of that game I never completed, so maybe I'll revisit again soon.

I posted a picture of her actually performing the motion capture for the game. If anything, they made her hair and skin look brighter and healthier than it did for the motion capture.
