Act 1 is great, Act 2 is fantastic, Act 3 is a slog, but the ending is absolutely perfect.

New 20-minute developer deep dive with gameplay dropped! It definitely looks like they took an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” type of approach, but I like the new exploration mechanics and the new tech to play with. Had my curiosity, but now has my attention:

The premise is a great one for a video game. Lends itself very well to an open world game. Not that Kill Bill invented the quest for revenge genre but everything about the description of this, including the female protagonist makes me think Kill Bill was the primary inspiration

as dunkey said. all games have females with swords now. this is the current trend. if they stick to the mechanics of the original game it should be fun. i am sure they can come up with a realistic story on female samurai. but if she is body slamming decked out samurais in armor, then it would break the immersion a bit hehe

Game looks amazing and sucker punch is clearly insanely talented but im not buying a game where im forced to play as someone who literally hates me in not only voice but visually.
Probably will miss a good game but oh well

Its not. And it isnt something I do often. I mean I buy games from people who hate me all the time im sure. It is also the fact that the game shouldve been a sequel which rubs me the wrong way and I just dont want to support it.
Like I said the game looks great and sucker punch imo is Sonys best studio by far im sure yall will love it im just taking a stance on this one. Not trying to be some martyr.

Digital Foundry just released their performance review and it seems like Sucker Punch did a great job with the PS5 Pro enhancement (but the game is also great on the base PS5!)
I'm not linking the actual DF video, because supposedly it contains some sizeable spoilers for the game(?). So, a summary from Reddit:

-3 modes on base PS5, 4 modes on PS5 Pro
-Quality 30 FPS / Quality 30 FPS + RT / Performance 60 FPS / Performance 60 FPS RT (Pro only)
-Quality 30 FPS is 4K on PS5 Pro, a little below 4K on base PS5 (John noted he counted 28 out of 30 pixels, so probably around 1700-1800p).
-Performance 60 FPS is 1440p on PS5 Pro, a bit over 1080p on base PS5.
-Raytracing 30 FPS modes appear to be ~1728p on Pro and around 1440p on base PS5.
-Performance RT 60 (Pro exclusive mode) is also roughly around 1080p, but seems to use PSSR over TAAU in the other modes. John notes that it generally looks almost as good as the other, higher resolution modes, but has some small visual gremlins in some areas. Specifically he pointed out some jiggly wall patterns that don't look quite right.
-Raytracing appears to be global illumination and adds a layer of extra shading/bounce lighting to some areas.
-Performance is mostly a flat 30 or 60, depending on the mode. John was able to get the performance to drop to into the mid-50 FPS during one big battle, but notes that Sucker Punch has stated that they intend to iron out the performance in the day one patch. Overall, very stable.
-Overall very sharp and nice image quality across all modes on both base and Pro.
-Cutscenes run at 30 FPS regardless of mode (same as Ghost of Tsushima did)

This will be a wait and see title for me. Just too much unnecessary bullshite surrounding this one for me to jump in on faith.
