Vaan is the featured character with the story told from his point of view. I know Ashe was going to be their main character but they were too scared to have her as their feature character. As far as gameplay goes you are right where it gives you plenty of flexibility to put the party how you want to.

You think FFXII combat system shines, the combat system is what made me hate the game.

Seeing FF turn into an action RPG over the years gives me a sad.

It is essentially still a turn based system but movement is added into the system.

FF7 was a wonderful game.....

That was probably the worst thing to ever happen to the Final Fantasy series. They are STILL trying to copy that game to this day. And it wasn't so much 7, as 7, then the "flop" of 8 (which was underrated), then everything but XI for obvious reasons was Square saying, "we can still make a pop cultural phenomenon." And it rarely worked.

I still enjoy most of the games, because I can find the good in them, but they all pale in comparison to 1-6.

Also, not a true FF nerd unless you've played Mystic Quest. And Tales and Adventure. All good stuff.

And Crystal Chronicles wasn't all that bad.

Yeah, I just like the traditional, random battle, stationary turned based much better.

The battle system wasn't bad enough to keep me from beating it, I just miss how it was from 1-10.

I can understand that, but for me I liked the change to a more open world type environment and you took a lot of downtime away by everything being in the open. Final Fantasy 10 is my favorite Final Fantasy game but 12 was very enjoyable for me

I prefer harsh truths. But it's a preference I enjoy.

Mrs. Tigerdik will be all over this if I get it.

Hmmmmmmm

I was just kidding around, You had to expect that though

I did really like X, but it was a very easy game. It was more like enjoying a nice interactive movie than playing a challenging FF game. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.

Those weren't FF games though.

I'm just obsessed with older RPGs period. Especially games by SquareSoft, Working Designs, Atlus, and Enix.

Love the Lunar series. Vanguard Bandits is a really fun game from them as well, if you can find a copy.

Brave Fencer Musashi is another fantastic rpg from squaresoft. It's kind of kiddy but it has a great soundtrack with fun gameplay and a pretty decent story.

I almost bought it just because it came with the FF 8 demo.

Wow! I totally forgot about crystal chronicles. I so had the GBA hook up for game cube. Even used it for wind waker for tingles side quest.

Back to ff cc. I did not like the caravan feature. Totally sucked but had a decent fun factor all in all
