Yes. The hand eye coordination and strategy it takes is insane. The olympics call table tennis a sport, and if thats a sport than E-Sports are too imo

Absolutely but not in a traditional sense. The definition is physical exertion in a competitive nature. The exertion is on the minor scale but does apply with fast paced shooters. MOBA I do not believe to be.

But i did love the video of a FIFA19 championship match, and one dude had a Coach and a guy to root for him during the match and yell stuff.

If it is not an esport how would you account for sold of stadiums of 70k+ and 300 million viewers world wide to watch their version of the Super Bowl?

This is an opening Ceremony from their latest Superbowl.LINK

With that much view ship and sponsors, does it constitute as a sport on par with Football/Soccer?

Viewers and money don't determine what a sport is.

Nope. It's a competition/game. Not all competition or games are sports.

If the definition of sport continues to evolve to not mandate athletic elements, it could one day qualify.

I put it in the same vein as chess. A battle of minds and not physical strength.

I love video games, and I like sports, but I don’t give a damn about Esports.

It’s hand eye coordination war.

Simple as that.

Chess is a battle of endurance and stamina, plus snap thinking. Esports require even faster reaction speed, really having to try to achieve no lag reaction time.

Grandmaster chess matches leave the players with the physical conditions equivalent to having run a marathon, burning through thousands of calories. Depending on what you think physical strength is esports and chess definitely require physical strength. It is true you don't need to lift weights, but everyone should lift weights to some degree. Thinking has a real physical cost.

Chess talks at 6:20 and again a bit later. This is focused on female vs male differences but it goes over the general talk

Sport: "an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."

If you're sitting on your arse, you're not playing a sport.

I don't think the Rolling Stones are a sport either, but people come to watch them all the time to. Same goes for Dave Chappelle, or anything else. Is it entertainment? Sure, I enjoy playing video games (don't quite get the watching though). But there's a difference between entertainment and athletics

Exertion: physical or mental effort.

Effort: a vigorous or determined attempt.

Determination: firmness of purpose; resoluteness.

Sitting on your arse with a resolute firmness of effort while engaging in any physical movement. Sport.
