Confirmed features for Halo Infinite
(Lets try this again lol)

Confirmed:

Halo Infinite will release on the Windows Game Store.
4 player split screen
No loot boxes.
No real money micro transactions.
No in game currency.
Will have cosmetic based micro transactions but can only be earned through gameplay.
Will take place on Zeta Halo, the largest Halo ring.
Single player will be open world.
Will feature customization similar to Halo Reach.
Will feature an art style based on Halo 3.
Will be a more upbeat, hopeful story.

Mostly confirmed:

Single player will have RPG elements.
Chief will get a new AI.

Unconfirmed:

Will release on both Xbox One and Xbox Scarlett.
Will be a next generation game.
The flood will return.
Arbiter will return.
Locke and all the spartan 4s will be toned down.
Sprint will be reworked/removed.
Armor boosting will be reworked/removed.
Katana will added as a melee weapon.
Playable Elites. (This is the most likely to end up being in the game.)

Will update as things get confirmed or new juicy rumors pop up.

I could take/leave the last few, but this one on next gen should be borderline realistic

re: Confirmed features for Halo Infinite
I've loved Halo since the day my brother and I camped out at Walmart the night of the OG Xbox release. The amount of hours I have put in the franchise is something I don't even want to know. I hope this game is great and tons of fun. But I do think it's a little absurd to have you #1 1st party game only release one game in a console generation. I hope 343 has learned from mistakes and makes a great game. Just a little frustrating as a fan that 3 years post H5 we don't even have a date for Infinite. I dont want a yearly CoD type release but feel like we should at least know when Infinite is coming out by now

I will buy on launch day like I have every other Halo. Just not willing to put my full trust in 343

They just need to go back to old halo combat. Remove the stupid aim down sites, boost jumping, sprinting, etc.

343 and Microsoft have done and said all the right things to correct 5. I don’t blame you for how you feel, but I’m confident you will be proven wrong.

Not saying you aren’t justified however.

Now that Pandora's box has been opened, look forward to updated consoles every couple of years.

Having said that, there is hope that mid-generation refreshes will be necessary (unless you are Nintendo) for next gen systems. As long as 4K remains the standard, and TV/monitor manufacturers don't go hard pushing 8K, there's little reason I can think of for slightly more powerful hardware.

The base Xbox One is horribly underpowered. Microsoft absolutely needed some kind of hardware update to stay relevant. A hardware update for the PS4 was less necessary.

The problem is though developers were struggling to hit 1080p on base hardware let alone 4K. 4K is almost the new standard for when you go out and buy a TV, so there was a huge push to get games running at or as close to 4K as possible.

::1 hour later:::

Msft: hey 343, can u make something like destiny? Makes a ton of money ya know

5's multiplayer was actually pretty good. They got back to some good things there. However, 5's single player was bad 343 should have given everyone a refund for it. They produced a what 6 hour campaign? Barely featured Chief, and really didn't have a story arc between 4. That is going to be the hardest thing to fix, they are essentially starting dead in the water on 6 from a story perspective.

Halo Infinite will not be similar to Destiny.

It will be similar to Horizon Zero Dawn if anything. 2 years ago Microsoft was hiring people to “work on a game inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn.” It’s widely thought this was Halo Infinite.

re: Confirmed features for Halo Infinite
I will most likely buy this. I miss old school Halo. Halo 5 MP was fine but it was so long between games that I was already use to sprint and it was too weird for me.

Do people really play Halo for the Story though?

I absolute do. Not only that but all gameplay elements have to be explainable via in game plot to be added to the game. That’s always been Halos thing.

That’s the whole reason playable Elites haven’t happened yet. There is no formal alliance yet so the Elites haven’t been able to participate in the Spartan training simulations (Multiplayer.)
