I feel innovating Halos campaign is just as important as multiplayer.
This needs to be more than a shooter, but a revolutionary take on the franchise that changes everything. The same way Guerrilla changed it up with Horizon Zero Dawn.

I think that's where they should take more risk. Include those different abilities in the campaign and customs if you want.

Then explain why the number of players online plummeted once it was added. Explain why it went from a top MLG game to being basically meaningless. The 3 least played least like Halo games all have sprint. The 2 most popular don't.
You are eaten up with correlation vs causation. The three Halo games weren't as popular because they just weren't that good of games as the others. The campaigns were mostly bland and uninspired and there wasn't much innovation in the MP. Couple that with the rise of other MP shooters like COD and Battlefield and you have your answer. Mass people didn't leave Halo because they added sprint. I'm sure, like some here, they didn't like the sprint, but people left Halo because better games were being produced, plain and simple.

Love how people balme 343 for this when sprint and all this BS everyone says ruined the game was added in Reach.
Hate on 343 all you want, idc, but don’t act like Bungie wouldn’t have taken this game down the drain when Reach had the worst multiplayer of any Halo game.
Reach was COD multiplayer with a halo skin. 4 was trash overall, and 5 was okay, the best MP since 3, not nearly as good but Halo 3 also probably had the best MP of any game ever.

As much as I loved Halo 3 it was just a watered down version of Halo 2 with horrible hit registration and awesome forge. H3 was a great MP with awesome maps but it's not on the level of Halo 2 much less greatest MP of all time.

There is more than just gameplay when talking MP.
The community and how big it was is a part of it. The fact everyone had mics and talked is a part of it.
All the different maps are a part of it. All the different game modes were a part of it.
Top to bottom there really has never been and probably never will be a MP experience like Halo 3’s in its prime.

I can agree with that. The online experience was unreal good.

So reach is cod multiplayer but halo 5 isn’t?

Halo Infinite is now confirmed to be a launch title for Xbox Scarlett and will also be released on the Xbox one at the end of this cycle.

Xbox needs Halo to be good again so badly.

When I first saw the name “infinite” it made me think of a battle royale type game that continually updates gameplay.
After reading notes about, “the only BR will be the original battle rifle,” I guess I’m wrong.
I feel like it wouldn’t be a bad idea to add a Royale type environment, but also offer single small map MP gameplay. Possibly integrate the two where you win at a smaller map and the winners portal into a final death match at another map.
I hope they make a more simplistic game, halo ce/ halo 2 type, but evolve the graphics a bit.
