Just grind and use fire paper. I killed him first try with a Saw Cleaver +5.

You can get a music box from Father G's daughter that she used to use to call him in from the hunt. If you use it in the fight, it drives him nuts and you can get some free shots in. Godsend for 2nd phase.

Oh yeah, you were way OP for BSB then haha
Mystic, serrated weapons deal extra damage to beast enemies. You can party pretty much all of BSB's moves too

I really need to dust this game off.

He's extremely easy to parry. The fight is easy once you figure that out
If you don't parry a lot learn to. It'll make your life easier

Yeah I'm currently level 25 and using a threaded cane +3. That might be why I'm having trouble lol.

You guys have any tips for Laurence? Decided to finish up the dlc and these bosses on ng+ are kicking my arse. Part of it is I'm rusty but these first 2 bosses are retarded. None of the main game bosses have given me remotely this much trouble.

I remember having to stay calm with him, play aggressive just enough to keep on him and not let him heal himself, but reserved enough to not get in his fire. After Ludwig the old hunters dlc seemed super easy

I am not faring well with BSB. I used up all my GD fire paper and you can't buy any more from the store at this point.

Started over again. This time I did a pile of farming up front while watching tv to make sure I had enough blood vials. Also used insight to buy some extra fire paper.
Cleric Beast - 1st try
Father G - 1st try
Blood Starved Beast - 1st try (I still can't parry but somehow beat the bastard because I was over leveled)
Vicar Amelia - 1st try
Witch - She got me a couple of times with her special move hitting me with a big mob around to finish me off.
Also completed the first chalice dungeon. Stupid dog took many attempts but I got it.
Now I'm off to the forbidden forest.
