I've stayed away from the masochistic difficulty games. No Dark Souls. No Demon Souls. No Bloodborne.

Been bored to death and the steam sale has nothing of interest to me.

I've recently enjoyed watching the misery of someone streaming their Bloodborne playthrough and it looks great so here I go. Time to bang my head against the wall a few hundred times.

Anyone got any early game tips other than try not to rage quit immediately?

After you beat something that previously obliterated you a few times it'a a great feeling. It's what made me want to keep plahkng.

Listen carefully, Skeleton. Choose the axe to start out. Learn to parry early. Soak in the world. Best PS4 game made so far.

Just make sure you set aside some time when you play. There will be areas that you have to try over and over again, but you will eventually get through it.

Probably not the best idea to start at 6pm on Sunday.

These games aren't as difficult as everyone makes them out to be. You just need a more patient playstyle than you're probably used to.

Learn the timing of the parry/gun mechanic. It's vital for Bloodborne.

I definitely need to relearn my Witcher 3 dodge and attack patience.

Clearly the AI is superior than most games. It isn't just one swing and then pause, then another swing. Some of those bad boys follow up their attack with some pretty interesting moves.

I can see how it would be hard for folks used to using brute force with no consequences.

Got to be up at 5am so I've already shelved the game for the night.

after an hour, it definitely appears this game is another win in the console wars for PS.

Souls games are all about taking your time, being very observant of attacks and level layouts

Go into the sewer or whatever it is before the first bosses. You can get upgrades and the ability to save/grind a little if you need

Yea its a huge win for ps4.

One of the many titles PS can boast about

I own an xbox one. I like it for what it does. I use it daily. But regarding console wars, ps4 slaughtered and it shows in the sales figures

Run to the first boss immediately. Even if you die it allows you to start leveling up.

Bloodborne becomes easier when you unlock the shortcuts. If you get frustrated try to find all elevators and doors you have to unlock from the other side.

Whenever I can't take anymore Dark Souls, I put in COD or Halo and just screw around until I'm ready for Dark Souls again.

Having never played any of the previous in the series, it was super frustrating not really knowing the dynamic and getting mercilessly wrecked for a couple hours initially. After that it's a very cool and rewarding game once you get the hang of it.
