I have to say the whole "gender switching" throws me off. I picked Kasandra in Odyssey which sounds like I picked the right choice. Now its intertwined? I picked the woman (since i would rather watch a woman running around) but they say the mixed is the "recommended". Yall pick a gender or do the "fluid" route?

This is where I think Ubisoft made a bad decision. I would be fine with a ton of new IP's using the same mechanics and not having to include the overarching AC lore. The novelty of the animis(s?) wore off after the second game to me. I would rather fully dedicated IP's with lore of their own.

Same. Any time I get dragged back to the “modern” world I just sigh and rush the dialogue and get back into the good stuff.

I’m sure there is a ton of lore and background info to be read in the computer and all that but I honestly don’t give a shite. I play for the time period, not the modern day shite.

Well they’re making a lot money on these games so they probably don’t see it as a bad decision. With the assassins creed labeled slapped on, they don’t have to worry about marketing as much. I wish they would just make these games period pieces too but it works for them.

This is all correct. I loved black flag but couldnt tell you what happened in the AC lore category. I look back on it as an awesome pirate game.

AC (and farcry for that matter) scratches all the itches that I want. I love finding new sync points, love the endless side quests, leveling up skills etc.

I understand they make a shite ton of money with this, i just imagine how great things could have been.

Of course it has a shaved, dyed head.

I don’t see them whining about the one eyed guy

I was a bit underwhelmed before I got to England, but now I'm having a blast.

does this series still use the animus or is it strictly a historical timeline?

Valhalla installed on my One S in under an hour, I'm pretty sure. Left for the gym, but it was at 42% after like 15 minutes.

Not bad.

I'll be getting to this later. Just started Fallen Order for the first time, and I dig it.

Picked this up today with my PS5 and am enjoying it so far, playing on hard and have died several times. Just need to get my timing down. Game did glitch once while fighting the first boss he stopped attacking and just stood there once I got his life half way, made for an easy win

Question: I’m trying to be as stealthy as possible but whenever I sneak up behind somebody I can’t figure out how to do a stealth kill and just end up doing a regular attack. Is this something I have to unlock or what?

Edit: just looked it up, looks like it’s given to you a few hours into the game

I'm a little further along than you - I'm in the East Anglia part of the game. I like how they broke the missions or story arcs into "mini sagas." I think it helps with the flow of the story. I too think the game relies too much on defense when it should be the opposite. Oh well, still enjoying it so far.

Simple solution. Double wield shields

Actually works pretty well.

Looks like the delivery estimates are early December (sort of like an early Black Friday deal)

I put about 50-60 hours or more into Origins and well over twice that much into Odyssey and I’m 2-3 hours into Valhalla and I’m not sure how I feel about it.

They made everything much more simple which in some cases, looks like the right decision. Others? Ehhhh.
