The game changes quite a bit once you leave the first area so keep playing.

Just popping trying to avoid spoilers but is this game worth $70 for the PS5 version. Thinking of getting it

Bugged out at the "A Seers Solace" mission early on. Can't interact with Valka.
Le sigh

I think I had that bug. I just closed the game and it reloaded perfectly fine.
Is that when she arrives in England?

Nah still in Norway. Where you have to climb the mountain to the seer

That's where mine froze.. but restarted and haven't had an issue since.
Also.. pro tip: Odins eye is your friend when looking for loot and baddies

Yeah I've tried closing the game, relaunching, no luck.
Couple forums out there say its a known glitch and Ubisoft's recommendation is to start the game over until a patch can fix it.

Yeah, that's why I manually save for now. Hadn't had a problem.
Have you gotten back to the seer?

Boy I'm dumb as hell. I bought the ps4 version last week since it's cheaper than buying the ps5 one and you get the upgrade for free. I set up my ps5 yesterday and download Valhalla off the store. I get into the game and it looks and runs like shite. I played up until I got to the village and called it a night, kinda disappointed in the PS5.
At work today I come to the realization that maybe I downloaded the ps4 version instead of the ps5 one because for some reason you can do that. Get home and sure enough it's the ps4 version. I get the right version downloaded and holy shite what a difference.
I thought I was losing my mind . I could have sworn 60fps looked a lot smoother than what I was seeing.

On PS5.
So far, I feel like it's a step back from Odyssey. I just got to England. It "seems" like there is a greater emphasis on the main plot, but the gameplay is far worse. It's really buggy/glitchy. I've already had the game lock up once. Your raven is completely pointless. There's very little in the way of interesting rewards for completing the points of interest. I haven't gained a single piece of armor outside of the starter set from the first couple of main quests.
The main map also "looks" much smaller than the previous three games.

I’m not very far in. Some graphics issues where NPCs look like Slenderman or some shite but no freezing or glitches yet on my One S.
The female VA will take some getting used to.
I hear a different studio did this one compared to Odyssey. The one that did Valhalla did Origins.
While I like the sense of weight to the gameplay, I prefer the streamlined nature of Odyssey. Plus it seems like I’m zoomed way the frick out when I’m in a battle mosh pit and I don’t like that.
I’d definitely rank it below Odyssey so far. And maybe below Origins for gameplay. Everything seems stripped down when it comes to actual gameplay.

Yeah that’s my biggest gripe. They went balls deep on simplification in all aspects when they didn’t need to. I’m still in Norway so maybe it will improve but so far, I’m ambivalent about it all.

I’ve had two side quests glitch and I don’t see me ever being able to complete them, the completionist in me is going to lose it being unable to clear the icons on the map.
Whenever you come up on the lady in her tower wanting you to stand vigil outside, do NOT kill the random Saxon glitching out on her bed lol you’re supposed to kill him outside.

They killed one of my favorite aspects of Odyssey which was how you felt like they threw loot at you everywhere you go.
Character progression is utterly baffling. The skill tree is like someone barfed random abilities all over my screen in random order. Not to mention that you can't even see all the skills on the skill tree.
It just isn't very fun to clear any of the points of interest because 9 out of 10 of them are behind locked doors, locked chests, or buried underground. You spend 30 mintues figuring out where the chest is then you get a GOLD BRICK for your efforts.
Although, in an attempt to make it worth your while, they removed your ability to obtain abilities via skills in place of random rewards found after clearing the POIs but by no means do I consider that a good thing.
I would go so far as to say this game feels like it could have come out before Origins and been considered a good game.

I despise the skill tree layout. It’s that artsy BS over functionality and it annoys me.
Why change the perfection of Odyssey’s skill tree layout? You can still add the background Norse flair, etc, but this complicated shite they stole from Fallen Order is irritating.
The map is irritating.
The raven is irritating. I wanna have fun filleting MFers, pillaging, and slaying poon. Why they gotta oversimplify some things and over complicate the rest?
What good are beautiful graphics with a crappy UI?
It’s still early but I’m also definitely not as invested in the story.
They slacked off heavily from the depth of Origins and Odyssey it seems.

Welp I can’t get through the Seer’s Solace mission. If I restart it and can’t get through the second time, I’ll be bombarding the developer daily until I get my money back.

I am to the point where I have my village up to lvl 2 and finally getting into the groove of things. Enjoying it so far...I don't think I like it as much as odyssey but it's solid.
ETA: I suggest watching some youtubers to get some extra hints - there's a shite ton that isn't self explanatory. Jorraptor has an annoying voice but pretty solid info.
