Pretty sure the version on Evercade is the original arcade one with stand-ins for famous wrestlers like Dynamite Kid and the Road Warriors.
That being said, Hamster Corp has put out an insane number of arcade games under various labels.
These range from late 70s games to stuff at least as recent as the early 90s like Sunset Riders and various Neo Geo games such as the Metal Slug series.

I still want an old school Tron cabinet but I think the prices have gotten out of hand for it.
Christ, I’d probably have trouble putting my hands on the Arcade 1up version at this point.

retro gaming thread and not a single mention of a RetroPie build?
Had one for a while. I really enjoyed it but it eventually died on me. I've got an Anbernic handheld now and it is pretty damn rad.

Would love to get a mint copy of River City Ransom

The two that I bought on Xbox were 1942 and Time Pilot. In my childhood I was in Japan, and a lot of the games had different names, so I'll stumble across stuff like Phantasy Star and get obsessed every few years.

So, recently bought two new games for my SNES.
Playing through RPG right now.

Whoa thanks for posting, havent been around in a while
I think I'm about to pickup Mega Man X legacy collection 2 because I really want to pickup those later X's like MMX4 and especially 5.
I started Final Fantasy 7 again on PS5 it has some cool newer features like fast forward navigation through areas.
IDK if you call those retro or not but I do enjoy Castlevania 1 and 3 from time to time
Turtles in Time would be a fun one to try and run.
"Perfect run" is running the game without a hit, regardless of time. "Speed run" is game launch to final boss (all events you can control) as fast as the software allows. Plenty of runs are available on Youtube. These gamer scientists set world records, etc.
I don't really like speed runs in certain cases, it depends on glitches and stuff the developers didn't fix and it wasn't intended to be. But a player has to execute timing which doesn't diminish their skill level at all, but that's just my opinion.

SMRPG is one of my favorites.
Funny story about that game. When I was a kid, the local video store used to let me take games home for free to try out and give the store a “review” so that can decide if they want to buy more copies. The owner had no idea what an RPG was and thought it was a traditional Mario game and I got to keep it until I beat it lol

I play retro games from time to time. I bought one of those mini snes a few years ago with like 30 built in games. Went online and found out how to download more games into it. Have about 100 to 150 in it, from Genesis to NES.

I had the nes one. I got it from best buy late last decade. I was unhappy with it there was latency issues with super Mario bros. Your buttons wouldn't register until like a half second later and it was so bad I couldnt play it. I did play ninja gaiden and a couple others fine but they dropped the ball on their most famous game

Didn’t deserve its own thread, so figured I would bump this: got a random hair to pick up Super Mario Bros and play through without warps. shite’s harder than I remember. Little fricker is so damned floaty, and there’s so many “gotcha” enemy spawn ins to memorize

I actually did this a couple weeks ago on an original NES console I picked up. The cartridge is SMB only and not the combined one with Duck Hunt that my dad had when I was a kid.

The SMB/Duckhunt cartridge was part of an NES bundle that came with both a controller and the light gun. I honestly didn’t even know they came as a standalone

Same, that's why I bought it. Just thought it was cool. We had the bundle growing up.

Recently bought a gameboy mini and Pokémon Blue.
I remember the first time I played a video game at my grandpa’s house in the 90s. He had an NES and was a beast at Tetris and Dr. Mario. First experience with Top Gun.
I’m hoping to keep these consoles and games running for my kids and, hopefully, future grandkids.

While I have the real hardware, I keep emulator boxes around because they are more accessible.
I specifically got a Retroid Pocket around Christmas with the idea of playing a ton of old stuff. I have most of the libraries of the NES, TG16, Atari Lynx, Sega Genesis, SNES, etc, at my fingertips as a result.
Downside is that I have been unable to make it work with Sega CD (Snatcher is too big to run) and I’ve yet to attempt either the N64 or PS1, but more recent stuff like PS2 and Dreamcast is supposed to work on it as well.

All my systems are either component/RGB native or modded (NES, SNES slim, N64) for RGB/component output. It's the best and sharpest picture quality you can get out of these of old consoles. Most of them look like emulator quality (exception being the N64 since it's just a blurry console) when upscaled to 4k, but it's native hardware. I have them hooked up to a component switch that has 8 inputs and 2 outputs. It's then hooked into a Retrotink 4K so I can upscale these consoles to 4K. My setup:
NES, SNES (slim version, but I have my original as well; slim outputs a sharper image when RGB modded), Genesis (model 1), N64, Dreamcast:
Component Switch:
PS1 (slim), PS2 (slim), PS3 (slim; my original 60gb PS2 backwards compatible died), Gamecube (with Gameboy Player), Wii U, Analogue Super NT, Analogue Mega SG, RetroUSB AVS:
My Windows 98 gaming PC:
Retrotink 4k:
This is a real handheld Gameboy Advance turned into a console with HDMI (720p) output. I have it hooked into my Retrotink's HDMI input feeding it the 720p signal and then upscaling for a 4k output. It is crazy sharp.
This is not all my systems I have tho. This is just what I have hooked up and play the most. I have an Atari 2600, Sega Saturn, Wii, Xbox 360, and an Atari Jaguar.

Ive got a win98 P2 box in storage, but with Steam and the advent of GoG, Ive never never needed to pull it out. And with software emulation, I play old Sega Genesis games on my Win 11 laptop too. I really like that the game services make it so easy to play old stuff on current hardware.
