If you haven’t already, consider buying either the Capcom Stadium 1 collection or the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Collection.
It's long past time for Capcom to include a collection with Alien vs. Predator, that game is one of the top three beat em ups of all time.

Ive got a win98 P2 box in storage, but with Steam and the advent of GoG, Ive never never needed to pull it out.
I use both as well for my Windows 11 build, but some games just aren't on there and those may require a bunch of hoops to get running on modern windows. The cool thing about GOG is you can buy some Win9x/DOS games on there and you can play them on a real Windows 98 pc as well (Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, Indiana Jones, etc).

(Copied & pasted from a recent post I made in another thread)
I just recently bought a used, original NES from a local game store. It was guaranteed for 30 days and was supposed to be tested prior to sale. They didn't test it in front of me and I completely forgot to ask. The whole idea of it was kinda sperm-of-the-moment. Picked it up on a Saturday after work.
Got home. It doesn't work. Flashing red light. But, of course. Sigh. Packed it up and was going to take it back. Then I thought, why not refurbish it myself? I tinker on occasion, but DEFINITELY NOT an electronics guy. Maybe I'll learn some things as a side benefit.
Spent the rest of that weekend and this past week watching YouTube cleaning/restoration/modding videos. Ordered some parts, tools, and supplies. Still waiting on some stuff.
Point being, I miss the old days. Being good all year and getting that Atari, NES, and SNES consoles for Christmas. Spending time arguing on who plays next with my lil brother. Then dutifully taking turns or duking it out in 2P mode.
I did as most and graduated to Playstation and Xbox. I saw thru the years that things seemed to steer away from actually providing FUN to being an obvious money-grab. I get it. They are companies that have to make a profit. But, all of these in-game transactions, DLCs, downloads, etc etc just got old.
I wanna buy a game that I can go home, pop in the console, and PLAY.
So, I'm going to fix a console that will allow me to do so. I want to own my fun.

(My follow-up copy & paste post in that same thread)
Well, the old NES is up and running. Installed a Nin10Drawer unit as a replacement for the 72-pin board. It's like butter.
Upgraded to wireless controllers. No lag.
Upgraded to a dual mono RCA/composite cable running to an AV/HDMI adapter into a 2003-ish Samsung LCD 48"-ish free TV my brother passed on to me.
Works like a dream and looks better than 1985. Mike Tyson is going DOWN.

Ok, in the present time now. Lol.
My NES system works flawlessly. I did pick up some factory NES screws that were missing in my project console. If/when I pull it back apart to upgrade anything else, I'll add them in. It's working fine without them. Just an OCD thing.
Anyway, this it what I've acquired lately:
Bad News Baseball
Baseball Stars
Capcom's Gold Medal Challenge '92
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Double Dragon
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
Dragon Warrior
Faxanadu
Final Fantasy
Mega Man 2
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
R.C. Pro-Am
Having a blast and definitely getting those waves of nostalgia.

I picked up a little portable device to play the classics on. But mainly bought it in case the electric goes out and I'm stuck with nothing to do.

I have my original Genesis, NES, SNES,64..original Xbox.. as far as retro consoles..
if you love retro games, go buy a mini nes or snes, they come with around 30 classic games on them.. they hold a lot more space though… download Hakchi, and retro arch .. easy tutorials on you tube… after that you need to get some roms. Vimms lair is a site with a just about every retro game you could imagine from Atari, NES, SNES, Genesis, Turbografx16 etc….
You can also get neo geo games to play on it but it was a little more confusing than the other consoles, Arcade games also like the Simpsons etc…
I put only NES, SNES, and Sega Master and Genesis games on it… I ended up putting 392 games. I probably could have gotten 400 but it was getting close on space…

Anyone here have an R36max? I've seen some videos on it and it seems legit, especially for the price.

Yea I just got one a few weeks ago. Runs 8 bit 16 bit, 32 bit emulators pretty well. N64 and Dreamcast its starts to get glitchy. The screen is surprisingly pretty nice. The size and default aspect ratio work well for some games and others not. But it can be adjusted. The D pad, analog sticks and buttons feels pretty solid. The rear triggers are pretty stiff and I dont like the placement, but I got this mostly for 8 and 16 bit gameplay anyway. The Emulec OS runs fine but it supposedly runs better on ARKOS which I ordered on a preloaded SD card from MECHDIY. The SD cards that comes with the systems are according to many users not reliable and fail after a short time. I also ordered a slide on grip handle as the unit is too small to be comfortable to play for more than a few minutes with my old larger hands.
There are tons of options for these types of devices on MECHDIY so you may want to shop around there but as far as the cheaper options the R36Max is about as good as any of the other sub $50.00 option.

I like that it has all the games pre loaded, but you can still add more through one of the simcard slots. I wanted something easy to pickup and play and not have to deal with adding games or a new OS, but I have seen the reports about the sim cards failing. If its as easy to fix as just replacing the simcard then I guess it won't be too bad. I'm mostly looking for something to play 16 bit and arcade titles so I'll probably go with this.

The problem is the sim card that it comes with pre installed that fails contains all the games. So if it goes so do the rom files. If you are tech savvy and know how to make a back up, that would be recommended.....if not there are sellers on EBAY, MECHDIY and others that sell SD cards with the OS and Roms for that system specifically . I ordered on to expand the number emulators and games. BTW most of these systems come games on SD card installed so if that was your primary draw...you do have other options...lots of them.

I think I've decided on the Mangmi Air X. LINK
Its got great reviews from everyone and seems pretty powerful for the price. Should I get a sim card from them or is there a better third party option? If I could buy a sim card pre loaded with all the games that would be even better.
