Menu looks great. Any reports would be appreciated.

I’ve only been once, but everything we ordered was well thought out and well executed. Off their current menu, I recall having the agnolotti, then the octopus, then the short ribs. All were excellent.

I’ve only been once but it was outstanding. My only knock was the Octopus appetizer was just meh. Everything else was excellent. We had the beef carpaccio, Halibut (my dish), snapper and perogies (ordered as a side). Finished with the passion fruit creme brûlée. Chef Sue can cook some fish!

I’m surprised to hear you say that about the octopus. I thought the bed of snap peas were particularly good.

Did a weekend food trip in New Orleans earlier in the summer, and Zasu was booked only for proximity to other stuff that night. Ended up being the best meal of the weekend.

The citrus poached shrimp appetizer was awesome. Also had the carpaccio and the grilled baby octopus. I’ve heard to artichoke and goat cheese agnolotti is great too.

I can’t for the life of me remember the entree, but I think it was an off menu special anyway.

Went a while back

We had
trumpet mushroom app.
octopus app.
Grouper entree
Snapper entree

All items were great! the grouper entree was the winner for me.

Really excellent fish

We opted to catch dessert at Angelo Brocato

I went last night. Octopus was very tender and the bed of snap peas, peppers and nuts was a home run on texture. We also had the artichoke and goat cheese appetizer, very good but not as good as the octopus.

Haven't been yet, but kicking myself. Sue's cooking at Gautreau's was simply outstanding. I have thought for a long time the two most technically proficient and elegant cooks in New Orleans (which can be a hard thing to meld) are Sue Zemanick and Alison Vines-Rushing.

I agree with the snap peas but I was talking the octopus itself. I've had better in the city. Now if they did a side of just those snap beans, I'd eat that all day.

Went with a large group and between us, had at least every fish entree and they were all delicious and cooked perfectly.

That I'll give you. I would have preferred to have larger pieces (say, just the tentacle of a larger octopus) instead of the smaller whole octopus.

Great place. Quite the renovation from Rue 127. I had the halibut, which was excellent. Need to get back there soon. The last few times I've tried have been last minute and they were booked.

Zasu is a really solid place. Food is good to very good and I think the renovation was well done.

I never went while she was there. Hate that as I know it was special. Making up for it as I just booked this place. My body is ready...wallet's just gonna have to suck it up.

Allison is teaching at NOCHI and Slade has a new project but not my news to break.
