That sucks…but I've never seen it real busy in there.
I also only took advantage of their great happy hour one time.

Last time I went was the same day as the Kentucky Derby before Jazz Fest. I ordered a Mint Julep to get into the spirit. I must say it was horrible.

That's unfortunate, I frequent their happy hour a few times a month.

That's surprising. I like both of those places.

As zealot said, I've never really seen a crowd there, but their happy hour was great.
Just speculating, but I think the lack of a crowd was a product of the location and the business model. It was a "nicer" place, which most museum goers aren't typically looking for. Still, I enjoyed it. I imagine they (the museum) could generate greater revenue from the place by switching over to one of those bullshite museum food court type eateries with low costs and too high prices. But again, just speculating.

They offer Nectar soda on the menu at American Sector, but they don't do Nectar soda at the Soda Shop. At the Soda Shop!
Sorry to see them go.

About time NOLA is waking up to Besh's antics. Like I said August and Provence are great. his other restaurants are no better than TGIF

I can assure you that American Sector is going to be extremely better than what will take it's place.

I do think something better could go there. It's always been crowded when I've seen it but it will be interesting to see what they do with the spots.

Do tell. I'm going to assume you're talking out your arse as per the usual, but I'll give you a chance.

This is a good way to ensure that no poster will ever take a word you say seriously again.

antics as in selling his name to a crappy restaurant with seemingly no oversight or quality control
Posted on 5/28/14 at 1:34 pm to runningTiger
only thing more overrated in NOLA than Besh's restaurants (August and Provence aside) are donald link's restaurants.

Everyone, ignore this asshat.

Like what? American Sector was mostly for the tourists coming to the WWII museum but it still managed to do things well.

So when did you eat there? What did you have? Can you post pics? Why was it so offensive? Did you break up with your significant other before or after you caught them in the sack with the barback from AS?

I've heard one of those large food companies that handle places like arenas are going to replace AS.

The American Sector was "meh" the times I've eaten there. I just never had anything there that seemed special.
I'm gonna miss those milkshakes, though. Those were good.
