You shut your mouth now. If this is velveta mixed with rotel, they could put cat terds in it and I would eat the hell out of it.

And yes, I can agree with every other thing mentioned. Luckily my friends all can cook or at least know enough to go pick up something from a place that does a good job if they don't know how.

Now when I go back home to visit family, that is when the crap show starts with bad food.

Cracker salad

Saltine crackers mixed with mayo and canned tomatoes. Gross. They thought of it as "party food".

Most things cooked in crock pots. I'm guilty of it sometimes but you just throw everything on there and wait 8 hours. That's no fun.

Mercifully I have never encountered this. It sounds disgusting and like something that would be popular with, well, Crackers.

What.The.frick? That is disgusting. And also hilarious.

Jello fruit salad, and even more so when it has marshmellows in it.

And I love cocktail sausages, but people put jelly in them? That is gross.

Shrimp dip made from two things: canned shrimp (in Louisiana) mashed into a block of cream cheese. No seasoning.

What do you know? Paula Deen has a recipe!

Cracker Salad

1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 large tomato, finely chopped
3 green onions, finely chopped
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 hard boiled egg, finely chopped
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

In a medium size bowl, coarsely crush the crackers with your hands - you should have big cracker pieces. Add the remaining ingredients, mix well, and serve immediately. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper.

I'm very appreciative if any person is kind enough to go out of their way to cook me something and gives it to me.

That cracker salad is hilarious.

I googled a write-up.

If you’ve never looked through a church cookbook, you probably don’t know – and that’s sad. Very sad. See my sad face? :-( Cracker Salad is a bowl full of veggies with a delicious mayo-based sauce. You crumble crackers up in it and eat it immediately so that the crackers are still crunchy. IT ROCKS MY FACE OFF. I do not lie.

Add rotel to that and you have my fat guy heaven when you dip with Tostito's Fajita Scoops.

The same folks that made the cracker salad once brought Carrot and Bell Pepper Salad - sliced carrots and bell peppers in a sickeningly sweet glaze. The vegetables were not cooked at all. Really horrible food.
