I give all restaurants a pass on service right now as I know they are having a terrible time finding workers and quality workers at that.

I do agree you always take care of the customer and unless there’s a ton of folks waiting to fill those tables, the restaurant should push tables together.

Your view was crappy, that’s the manager’s fault, but I would never take a picture and post it online and complain about it. Seems like a reach and just something to complain about.

I hate waiting for a waiter/waitress for my check. I kind of admire your cahonnes for calling the restaurant but that is a total d-bag move. Lol.

You had a bad experience and I’m glad you mentioned it. I don’t fault you for telling us the truth. Just seems like you tried to pile on the complaints to make it seem worst than it was.

This seems to be a common occurrence. I do find it annoying.

You are probably right, if they had just offered us a table for 6 inside, the rest goes away. To be told a 6 people have to banished to a booth or outside in unacceptable.

I certainly have no loyalty to Willies at all.. But I had lunch there on Saturday.

There were signs posted out in the sidewalk, at the door outside, inside the lobby, and on top of the host stand all stating in caps/underlined words that they are not seating more than 6 people, which likely explains the tables being pushed together thing.

There were a few other rules listed on the signs, which admittedly is weird in itself, but they were pretty upfront about the seating situation regardless.

The booths inside are not your standard 4-person booths, so to say you're "banished" to them is giving a false impression that your party was squished into a 4-person bench.

They are the very long ones that can fit 8 people if you have thin folks in your party, and definitely 6 people no problem. All other tables in the restaurant were 4-tops or 2-tops. Sounds like their policy is to seat 5-6 tops in the booths or outside, and everyone else at standard tables.

Look, I accurately described the situation Willie's puts you in, personally I hate booths, they are uncomfortable, these were especially so. Of the 6 people in our party, 3 were very thin, it was still elbow to elbow. All I did was relay readers of the board accurate information. Instead, I get attacked as I expected on this board.

You don't like the information, go after the poster. That is the way it has always been on this board, I accepted that years ago.

I like you fine, andouille. You've been here a long time and I imagine many folks here do as well. I'm not trying to personally attack you.

I think honestly, it is your delivery. The complaints come off as an old grump yelling at a cloud. "Dumbass Greeter" probably isn't the best thread title if you're looking for understanding here.

And yes, I'm sure many have noticed that the black folks like to dine out later than the white folks.. but I don't know that starting a thread asking why they do this and whatever else was in there is the best direction to go, ya know?

when greeted with stupidity like that tell them you need two tables for 3 that are right next to each other

that always works for me. you just need to know the proper way to get around their stupid rules to get what you want

This. Restaurants have been fricked over the most with the combination of shut downs, constantly changing laws and regulations, and then lack of workers both front of house and back of house.

OP, why didn’t you just wait for an outside table

And if you didn’t want to wait, go somewhere else with your large group?

Your entire thread is just rambling ranting of someone who seems to always find the worst in every situation. Every restaurant is basically scrambling and in survival mode right now, try and relax and cut them some slack dude

It was actually in reference to this same Willie's visit. It was only a couple of days ago.

If that’s true then wow. I’ll happily visit Willie’s because I already know you won’t be there so it can’t be all bad.

Don’t know anything anout your post history. But good lord you sound miserable. Complaining about sitting at a booth? Complaining about people walking by your table? Lol. Calling the restaurant by phone that your are physically inside of?

Glad you have a thorough review of your food.

Are you the person who got their post whacked a few days ago trying to be coy about the "demographics" of The Chime East or Willies?
