When eating unpeeled potatoes I invariably get some grit or sand along with the peel. If I could get non-grit peel, I would never peel them.

Are these American or Mexican potatoes? These days I’d peel or wash any vegetable seafood or meat I didn’t grow or catch myself. But if you eat processed food or drink soft drinks then why bother. Much of our news on food is driven by the food sellers. Sad to say.

Because my wife doesn’t like the skins. If she’s not here, I don’t peel them.

To get rid of any chemicals absorbed by the skin.

quote:

Wash thoroughly: Always scrub the exterior to remove dirt and bacteria before cooking.

Watch out for green spots: Avoid skins with a green tint or sprouts, as these indicate a buildup of solanine—a natural toxin that can cause stomach upset.

Cook wisely: To maximize the health benefits, bake, boil, or air-fry unpeeled potatoes.

Avoid deep-frying or loading the skins with unhealthy fats like excessive butter and bacon.

The damn skin sticks to the roof of my mouth.

Peeling (same as pealing) is not hard to do and I just prefer my tators peeled.

I don't peel them, but I also don't buy russets, so the skin isn't thick or hairy.

At Rocco’s PoBoys, their Tater Salad has the skin on it. I order it most times when I go in.

If I order the Fried Fish, I tell them to sub the French Fries with the Tater Salad, no up charge, but they do know me.
