Best Bakery will also sell you unbaked dough, so you can take it home and make fried bread dough. Which is not the same thing as a beignet, but is delicious nonetheless.

I was born and raised in New Orleans and I can say, beyond the shadow of a doubt, I'm better at partying than anyone in this thread. Especially the people from Chauvin and around Luling.

A bit dramatic. Fresh leidenheimer bread will last 2-3+ days easily if kept correctly. Most of the time the stuff at the store has been sitting on the shelf for a few days.

I don't know anyone from New Orleans or the area that think they are Cajun. Unless they are originally from the Cajun areas.

Not true, I have had excellent sandwiches at PE, but they are not poboys. A long soft bun is not poboy bread, period.
Not many regional specialties make it out of their home market under a franchise umbrella. If you think a soft bun can be a poboy, then Subway is a poboy franchise. A lot of places have fried seafood on a long bun, they just don't call them poboys.

You say that, but experience has proven otherwise. If you can't get freah Leidenheimer or Pouparts, it just doesn't work. Perfect french bread isn't easy to make.
