They use Italian dressing as a marinade because they like the way it makes their food taste.

I agree with that. I love anything wrapped in bacon with jalapeños and cream cheese (you could wrap dog shite in that and it'll be good), but my urge to create new complex flavor profiles pulls me away from that. I'll never complain about having duck/dove/backstrap with all those fixings, or even look down upon it, but if I'm cooking I'll more than likely go a different direction.

This pretty much sums it up. I'm not making many things with bacon, jalapeno, and cream cheese but if I go over to somebody's house who has, I'm probably going to devour it.

Did this thread have a chance of being decent?

I'm hoping he means uncreative as opposed a boring flavor profile.

Ok, that makes sense. I can see where if you hang out at hunting camps all the time, that it can get a little old after a while. I don't (not that I'm apposed to hunting, just that my family and friends don't hunt much), so it's still kinda a treat for me.

GTFO with this troll nonsense.

You have to understand that when I first started posting here, the biggest draw was that a fight was unheard of.

The constant banter you see daily here didn't exist.

It's like people who have no true interest in food/drink wandered over here and get off on starting arguments.

It's the internet.. people exaggerate everything (I'd drag my dick through 20 miles of glass to smell her fart)
Someone saying WalkOns is the worst restaurant on earth shouldn't matter. Chances are, they don't actually think that. And even if they do, so what?

The amount of good restaurant reviews have dramatically decreased. Now it's just bickering and fighting.

I'm not saying some of the pretentiousness isn't over the top. Some of it is. But everything was fine until people made it their life goal to come here and fight all day over Italian dressing skillet chicken.

Well, the board was only inhabited by foodies then. It obviously has gotten more popular, and has a broader range of palates. That doesn't make people trolls.

Well unless good restaurants are opening every week, that's bound to happen after a while.

Your dumbass ramblings make me want to puke. Way more so than Italian dressing.

I think they were fighting over steak. Most people seem to be in agreement that Italian Dressing is pretty good on chicken.

Why are you trolling?

I feel like I should mention my hopefully obvious sarcasm.

trying to disregard the bitchfest about pretention for a bit...

...the reason people use Italian dressing is because it has all the basic components of a classic marinade (oil, vinegar, seasoning)

You can hate on it all you want, but that is why people use it.

I don't marinate steaks. But I'm not above marinating a chicken breast or pork chop, and while I generally do not use bottled Italian dressing, my homemade marinade will still have those basic components.

I used to come here for great recipes, regardless of the ingredients.

I now come here to watch the food snobs go in a tizzy because someone used a canned product, or someone likes a Five Guy's burger.

cause it makes chicken thighs taste heavenly. Italian dressing by Wishbone is a party in your mouth.

I see I am late to that party, but if you don't like Italian dressing marinated chicken thighs, you are a pinko commie who probably only wears black v neck t shirts.
