I use Italian dressing for all of my steaks. I cook it well done to ensure all of the marinade stays locked in, then compliment it with a little bit if Hunt's ketchup to enhance the flavor.
Microwave or boil?

You'll find a lot of things that taste good are looked down upon here.

Because they saw it before and don't know any better.
Most accurate answer.
I thought steak was disgusting until I was an adult.
It's because growing up, my mom marinated them (not in Italian, lol) and then my dad cooked them well done. I remember crying when we'd have steak because I hated how long it took to chew.
I had no idea steak existed in other forms.
Now, my mom likes a med-rare steak and my dad is coming around to at least medium. They still marinate them when they make them at home though.
I keep saying I'm going to buy steaks and bring them over and cook, but I keep forgetting.

Never trust a man who doesn't like bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeno stuffed meat.

Seriously? Hunts? That's terrible. You should always use Heinz.

I have no problems with it. I also have no problems marinating chicken breast in Italian dressing before hitting the grill.

This used to be my favorite board but the pretentiousness has almost become unbearable on here.

Sometimes it can be over the top, for sure...
Problem is, the people that act like they are above something like that on here, probably have that very meal on the grill as they type shite about it

Exactly. There is a time and a place for that type of food and I enjoy it when appropriate.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I use it a lot for chicken, never for beef.

It is entertaining.

It's pronounced "eye-talian".
Things like the ubiquitous cream cheese-jalapeno-bacon treatment are looked down upon because a foodie had tried it and moved on to better things. The cc/jal/bacon thing is just frickin boring as hell.
I've belonged to duck camps where you better bring your A game when the cooking is going on.

Hey, I agree this thread was a bashing thread and totally unnecessary.
But I have said before: We need a little pretension. If I wanted recipes with Velveeta and Kraft Italian, I'd visit the Food and Family website.
The fact that there are a decent number of people here who know good food (good recipes, good restaurants, etc) is what has kept me coming back for so long.
This board may SEEM like it has more pretension than it used to, but that's only because trolls have found their way here to point it out. The posters here were never giving out Velveeta recipes... it just wasn't talked about. There was pretension a'plenty; it just wasn't noticed because no one was here to test it. Now, we have trolls from all over jumping into every thread defending crap and it makes the board look more pretentious.

I agree with that. I love anything wrapped in bacon with jalapeños and cream cheese (you could wrap dog shite in that and it'll be good), but my urge to create new complex flavor profiles pulls me away from that. I'll never complain about having duck/dove/backstrap with all those fixings, or even look down upon it, but if I'm cooking I'll more than likely go a different direction.

I take credit/blame for this. A few years ago I posted a pork tenderloing stuffed with cream cheese and jalapenos and the food police ripped me a new one.
I then did stuffed burgers the same way and the hate intensified ten fold.

GTFO with this troll nonsense. It's not trolling to call people out when they say things like "Walk On's is a top 5 worst restaurant ever."
