We ate at Giordanos in Orlando and I thought it was great. Just curious why we don't see more of them.

Because everyone here knows that people from Chicago don't know how to cook.

because i think there is more money to be made selling regular style pizza
I have been to Chicago and I love the deep dish style pizza but I don't think there is that much of a market for it here. Not as much as there is for regular style pizza.

Rub some butter in a castiron pan
put a thing of TJ's pizza dough in it, but make sure there is room around the top
fill in your sauce, cheese and toppings
Bake til cooked
Delicious home made castiron deep dish pizza

Funny loved to got Lou M when we lived in Chicago and we have a place in Metairie and uptown but don't want to go.
It's kinda like the food culture you live in and what you have access to city wide, just not on radar anymore.

That's Amore and Midway in NOLA are supposed ton be very authentic. I can vouch for That's Amore - it was just like the deep dish pizzas I had in Chicago.

I will make an effort to get That's Amore and report back.

Love their pizza. And there ought to be more Chicago style pizza joints.

I've never had a real, legit deep dish. May have to try one (or more) of these places.

I've only had Chicago style at Lou Malnati's and it was great but I wouldn't want to eat it all the time.

Because deep dish is an inferior product.

Midway is not authentic by any means, but it's still pretty good.

It also takes a lot longer to cook than a regular pizza. It's basically a pizza casserole.

I like thin crust. Never noticed about deep dish.

I prefer thin, but having the real thing when I was in Chicago was pretty damn good.
As said earlier, I think a lot of it is a logistics thing. When I went to Gino's we had to wait about an hour for them to cook our pizza. Good luck getting a pizza joint down here to convince people to wait an hour for their food.

I like their location on St Charles.....but I feel like the two times I've been it is ALL dough. Not really the kind I've gotten in Chicago.
