Had my first Dong Phuong last night. One cream cheese and one cinnamon. Definitely worth the hype.

It was so fresh and light, the dough melts in your mouth and the whipped cream cheese frosting is amazing. I’m spoiled now. Don’t think I can eat a dry grocery store cake ever again.

My two favorites are king cakes that don't look like king cakes - the strawberry king cake from Maurice's and the king cake cheesecake from Copeland's.

Place here in Natchitoches started carrying king cakes from Caluda's in Harahan. I picked one up and found it to be very good. What's the F&D's thoughts on those?

I live in BR so Calandros is my go-to. I do love getting Randazzos when I can though. Had one from Rouse’s last night that was really good too

Randazzo's, just about any of the family since they all use the same recipe and are probably still fighting over it.
