I know this may sound nuts but with no real good choices for pizza around here the Dominos Brooklyn style pizza is my favorite. The Pepperoni Extravaganza or the Extravaganza are my favorites.

Large foldable slices, topping hold on and don't slide off.

Decent amount of sauce, but not dripping off.

i could be wrong, but i think the biggest characteristic of a NY pizza is the thin crust cooked a certain way (preferably wood fired oven). there is a myth you can't even make NYC style pizza anywhere else b/c of the characteristics of the water they use

Pizza Delicious is prob the closest.
Most other good pizza in LA is neapolitan style, or kinda of Cal-Ital or similar.

Where was the best pizza in NY? I've found that the pizza here generally is overrated.

I loved My Pie Pizzeria near Central Park. I didn’t try any of the famous places. Next trip I’ll go watch El Presidente’s reviews before.

MidCity Pizza is pretty good as well.

Think I like them better than Pizza D now. Great wings too

Mayhew Bakery is up there. Think they’re about to start selling pies full time too. Good NY slice comparable to Pizza D and MCP

Back in early 90’s, Deano’s in Laffy was absolutely legit. Have no clue as to current quality. The Zuschlag was stellar
