I know I’ll get a ton of downvotes from all the coffee drinkers.

I’ve never liked the taste of regular brewed coffee (I love the smell of coffee). It’s way too bitter and unless you add a ton of cream and sugar, it just tastes like a shite.

I recently got an espresso machine and it’s a game changer. Just a plain espresso (no sweetener) is simply amazing.

How can something with the exact same two ingredients (grounds and water) tastes completely different?

Now add steamed milk, you have a helluva drink, still without adding sweetener.

What machine do you have an what beans are you using

I’ll say congrats that you think coffee is bitter & you already have an espresso machine dialed in to where it has no bitterness or sourness

I enjoy espresso and espresso-based drinks quite a bit, but if you find regular coffee too bitter unless it's full or cream and sugar, you're using inferior beans and/or brewing it incorrectly.

I love a good cortado, but there’s not much that beats a good, stiff cup of French pressed-brewed coffee.

That’s just it, I don’t want sugar in my coffee drink, and with espressos/lattes, you don’t need it.

I’m a newb when it comes to espresso. I just got an inexpensive Gevi machine and I haven’t even ground beans yet. It’s been only a few weeks since I got it.
The night I got it, I just bought some Community grounds, ground it up to espresso, and just been making espressos with it.

I don't dislike regular coffee, but it's too damn hot these days to drink it.

Espresso goes together with ice so much better

I never really drink coffee, but I fell in love with espresso when I went to italy a few years back. not just the espresso itself, but the culture of just going to the counter, ordering/paying, drinking, and then you're on your way after maybe 5 minutes depending on how crowded it is.

all the better, actually. a 2012 study actually showed that, provided your local conditions permit full sweat evaporation, body heat storage is lower with warm water ingestion than with cooler water.

I'm not drinking a hot drink when it's 90 degrees in the morning walking into my office

Well made espresso takes some practice. Pre ground beans from CC is prob pretty safe as far as taste goes. There’s a whole wide world out there

I love all coffee, minus the sugar. I have one of those fully automated machines, and usually do a few expressos in the morning and then a coffee.

I don't like shitty coffee. Before we got our Breville Barrista Express, i was making coffee with my aeropress with quality local beans.

I do this sometimes mid day, but i'm jittery AF after drinking a double shot espresso.

Funny thing is, MrsAntiqueTiger still uses her Kurig.

I feel like this:

“When Bonnie goes shopping she buys shite. I buy the gourmet expensive stuff because when I drink it I want to taste it.”

You answered your own question without realizing it. However you're currently making regular coffee is wrong. Something is fricked in your ground size/water temperature/steep time ratio. If your coffee is bitter, it's one or more of too small/too hot/too long, respectively. The espresso machine is doing the work for you, fixing your mistake(s).

If you just don't like drinking a hot drink in hot weather, try cold brewed coffee. It's very easy to make at home using one of these cold brew coffee filters and because it is brewed cold, it is not in the least bit bitter. It's also great for hot coffee. Just cold brew it and heat it in the microwave when you want some.

I only drink espresso or cortado only.

When it's hot, I will drink an iced coffee.
