She had to ask me how to use the new oven we had put in last July.

I got ya beat. Not only do I do all the cooking but I also do the dishes. Once I asked my wife to unload the dishwasher. Later I noticed that she put all the stuff in the wrong drawers and cabinets. I had to re-do everything.

Me: "Honey, you put everything in the wrong place."
Her: "How am I supposed to know where the dishes go?"
Me: "Well, we've been living here for 14 years."

My wife does most of the cooking during the week, but I do a lot of it on weekends or when we have company over.

I do all the cooking and cleaning now. Wifey makes brownies and cupcakes maybe once a month.

When the wife was in charge of cooking, they ate out of paper bags every night. With 2 sons, 12 and 14, I want them to eat well....so I cook.

Zack, that's pretty bad, you have me beat. Our deal is I do all the cooking, she does the dishes.

We both think we have the best end of the stick.

My wife does 95% of the cooking. I do 100% of the dishes.

I am in charge of anything grilled or boiled seafood. Also will do some game type meals that she is unfamiliar with.

If I aint boiling, I don't enjoy it. I don't even enjoy grilling that much.

I think that because this is a mainly Louisiana board you will find that a lot of the men cook. I come from a family of four boys and we all can cook. It's more a part of the culture in Louisiana than other parts of the country. Growing up, my mother would do all the cooking because she was a fantastic cook and she was from Cajun country and dad was from New Orleans. He would cook one main dish and mom would do everything else. Men cook in Louisiana, with pride.

Here's another (there are lots):

After we got married it was time to sell her house and combine stuff. I started with the kitchen to see what to throw out and what I could use. All of her pots and pans were cheap.

When I said, "We'll have to throw all these out. Didn't you have any good quality pots or pans?"

Her: "That's too expensive when you have to buy new ones every month."

Me: "Why would someone buy pots every month?"

Her: "I don't cook often, but when I do I usually burn something and it's too hard to clean up so I just throw the pots away and buy new ones."

I do about 75% of the cooking and she does the rest.

Funny because my dad can make cereal and that's about it while my mom can make a shoe taste good

We share it, but I do most of the dishes.

Husband does: Weekend breakfast (except homemade biscuits), jambalaya, gumbo

I do most other stuff, but when he gets hungry he comes in and starts helping. I usually do all the prep work for anything we cook, so even if he cooks jambalaya, I cut up the veggies & meat.

I rarely eat dinner at home because I work/go to school/have a boyfriend all in Baton Rouge, and I live with my parents in Central. If I am at home, my Mom generally does the cooking, but my Dad will cook like 25% of the time.. it's not uncommon or anything.

I'm generally with my boyfriend at dinnertime though, and when we cook, it's pretty much always me. I passionately love cooking so he lets me have that. Plus, he loves being my guinea pig when it comes to new dishes I want to make.

I will be moving out with my best friend in August and we both adore cooking so we'll likely take turns.

I do 100% of the cooking, she does 100% of the dishes.

I can't stand doing dishes and she struggles with anything more than mac and cheese soooo...

Didnt see this

growing up. mom cooked 95% of the time. Dad had his specialties though (for saturday mornings when mom would sleep in). scrambled eggs and toast or pancakes shaped like mickey mouse. also did french toast a few times. and the occasional canned soup or mac and cheese when mom couldnt cook for dinner.

we were always glad when mom was feeling better.
