Hey boys, an Iowan here. any of you ever had/heard of Templeton Rye? the legend is that it was Al Capone's favorite and it's pretty popular around here.
good enough to have it neat, but also pairs great with sours.

I've had it and it is a fairly good pour. I'm pretty sure that it is just LDI sourced juice. So you can find the same rye in a few other places.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Bulliet, Redemption, and High West get their rye from LDI. I think Smooth Ambler is sourced there too. I highly recommend High West. They make some VERY good blends.

Heard of it seen it around a good bit, never tried it. I never thought to buy rye for sipping until recently (bought sazerac for making the cocktail). The Willett opened my eyes and I'll be incorporating rye into my purchase rotation.

Yeah, putting in lots of time finally paid off. The place reserved a few for the customers who come in most and part of the deal is not disclosing the location so they don't get a bunch of ppl coming in there asking for it. I will say that the hunt has been frustrating b/c most of the local places sold all of it to the bars who have accounts with them b/c they spend a lot and the stores want to keep them happy and not going to ABC for most of their stuff. I was also able to get a ORVW10 at retail and stumbled across some ER17 a couple weeks ago.
