I think it was pretty good for the price...keep in mind I had a few by then as well.
Yea I resisted the 20 for a while. I really like the 10...but joe was saying how he liked the one he got...and this one had the best price I had seen on it.
20yr = not going to tell the wife what it is or what it cost.

So gmarker you tried the AE? Thoughts?
I did try the AE... It's different for sure. You can taste the sweet port on the front of it alot but then it smooths out like a good bourbon. It's almost too soft for me, I bet the CS is rockin.. All in all it's a good one to keep in the cabinet. The SO loves it so if anything that's a plus if it keeps her away from er17.
oh and...

Any of yall LC folks going to the tasting at graywood tonight?

The wife has determined that I have purchased enough "special" bottles for the year. Here is the finished family for the season. Not bad for my first one actually putting in the effort. Pic doesn't include the other AECS I got for my dad, and the OFBB13 since that's long gone.
Equally as satisfying as the results of my searching was all the new bottles I got to buy/try along the way. Bourbons I had never had until this year:
OFBB13
EC12
Willet 4 yr Rye
EHT Barrel Proof
4 Roses Sb and SmB
EWSB
Rowans Creek
Dickel 9 yr SB
WL Weller 12
Probably a few more I'm forgetting. And of course the pictured will be added to the list once they get cracked (gonna open one of the BTAC ryes tonight).
Not going anywhere, but thanks to all the contributors of this thread. It's been awesome and quite an education.

I havent opened any of the '13 Handys I got but I keep reading how people say it's the best of the bunch this year.

Well y'all just made my decision that much harder. It'll probably be the Saz since I plan to share it with a buddy who I'm not sure has had many BPs, if at all.

I've read the more recent bottlings of Saz18 are starting to take on a metallic taste from sitting in the stainless vats for so long. Dont have any Saz18 so I couldnt tell you if that's actually true. I'd still buy every bottle I could

Posted on 12/13/13 at 1:02 pm to FunroeTiger
Haven't had the Stagg Jr, but the Taylor SB and BP are great.
Posted on 12/13/13 at 1:04 pm to GRTiger
I've had both and will not be buying more of the jr
