FPD- Michters Toasted Barrel

Was this a recent pick up for you?
Can't find it anymore.
Can only find the small batch bourbon and single barrel rye

FPD - Old Fashioned with some homemade orange infused simple syrup. Didn't come out too bad for first attempt!

FPD - THH, this really is much more enjoyable with a little agua.

Had a nice little dinner with my brothers last weekend. I drink bourbon, they prefer scotch. Here's what we had: Lag 16, AE rye, Glenmorangie nectar d'or, EHT BP, Glenfiddich BBR 14. I know as much about scotch as I do about quantum physics, but I would rank them:
1) Nectar d'or
2) lag 16
3) Glen BBR 14
What do y'all think?

Just dropped by a liquor store and they had 3 cases of the Masters Keep. $149. Anyone like it that much?

Not for 150. I got it for crimmus from the in-laws. It's good juice..but not $150 good. It's incredibly low prrof for a 17 year old juice. You're call though. It is certainly better than their 'diamond' release that has been collecting dust on shelves across the country.

Definitely not that much. It's fine I guess, but I wouldn't seek it out and certainly wouldn't pay the suggested retail for it.

Yes! The Bourbon Barrel Reserve (Light blue label). Quickly becoming one of my favorites...

It may replace/accompany the Glenfiddich 15 in my regular rotation of scotches to keep around.

The cheapest that I have seen the WT Masters Keep was $130 so $150 is not bad for the bottle. I say get it if you have the means to do so.

age doesnt really have any bearing on proof

of course proof will fluctuate from the time it enters the barrel to the time it is dumped. a 17 year whiskey isnt going to necessarily be stronger than the same 15 year whiskey though

that being said, it is incredibly low considering its "barrel proof".
