After fighting for almost 3 hours to get the little one to sleep I had to break this out. Been holding onto it for a while but I needed something strong

How do you like the 1897, I haven't had it yet. I had the 1890, I thought it was solid but I'm not sure it's worth the $40 retail.

I lurk this thread husband loves bourbon and we have got a nice collection including some of that George Washington my sister got for us at Mt. Vernon , hang on to your hat when you drink it....not smooth at all

Some people like the 1897 and some don't. I think it's great. I tend to enjoy old forester. IMO, It's not a far cry from the birthday bourbon. In the words of a friend who tried my OF 1897 to see how it tastes, "Damn.. That's a mans bourbon."
