I did like the 1890 and I figured the extra proof could only help. Is the 1897 the same juice just higher proof BIB?

Have any of y'all made large batches of either and stored and poured over a period of time? I know some places barrel age them but I just want to mix up a bunch and pour at will like pmp.

I do this all the time, mostly with a batch of old fashioned. I mix 12 oz or so in a decanter and enjoy myself or I make them for a party.

Sugar and alcohol are great preservatives. It should last for longer than you need.

That's a good question. Not sure. I'm also not sure about the age either.

The Modern Thirst review sums up OF1897 quite nicely

Looks like they share the same standard OF mash bill (72% corn, 18% rye, 10% barley). According to these reviews.

1897

1870

Liquor store owner put his mark on that bottle!

Na, twas actually signed by their master distiller Dave Perkins. Doesn't make it any more 'rare' or more tasty but the way the Bourbon market is these days...who knows.

I know I'm in the minority but those old foresters tastes really young to me. I don't see them being older than 6-8 year old juice.

Finally! Had to trade with a restaurant owner friend and cost me one of my Single Oak projects, but I'm happy.
