I just had the exact same pour!

If I had to pick something as a daily drinker, it might be it.

I had the WhistlePig 10 in my hand today but put it back. Couple of people on this board said the Toasted Barrel was great so I grabbed a couple of those instead.

What did you think of the WhistlePig?

Comparing the whistle pig and the smooth amber is like comparing beethoven and metalica. Both are good but for different reasons. Whistle pig is smooth, complex, subtle and delicious. The smooth amber is slap u in the face bold and hot. Overall I'll take the pig but not by much.

Neither of them have a very strong rye flavor.

Can't give an opinion on the whistle pig against the toasted barrel as they are too different.

My tastes must be a lot different from other people's because this is how I feel with the 2 yr old Willlett compared to say the Jack Daniels barrel proof. To me the Willet is full of complex flavors and the JD is good but has a lot more ethanol finish.
Guess I will give the pig a try.

At some point I just have to say there are already enough good bourbons and whiskey that I really enjoy so just stop trying to find more.

Hey guys, what's up? Y'all doing good? Been off the juice for a bit because busy, but today I found out two of my best friends passed the New York BAR. Figure I'll do a pour for each.

Second pour Russell's Reserve Rye.
Third pour Toasted Barrel. Getting lots of chocolate on the finish. Glad I grabbed two. May go back for more.

definitely doesn't apply to me!

My last pour is I guess not a bourbon, it hasn't been aged. But I love it. It's like cinnamon, corn, and chocolate. I feel like this one probably gets hate, I dunno, I don't read too much online, but it's such a nice sipper for what I want it to be.

I didn't realize they were having that tonight... I went to the WT tasting there a few months ago and enjoyed it.

Mine came from a little mom and pop shop in Tennessee. They had about 6 bottles on the shelf.
