1 & 2 PD: EHTaylor Rye. My first time tasting the rye. It is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Bulleit Bourbon 10 (8): Solid flavor with reasonable complexity. Smooth clean finish without any negative lingering aftertaste. Solid bourbon overall.
Evan Williams Single Barrel (7.5): Similar in taste, complexity, and finish to the Bulleit but with a bit of a less satisfying finish.
John J Bowman (5): A bit uninspiring. Nothing fantastic.. nothing memorable about it. Wins out over Wild Turkey on the smoothness of the finish.
1792 (5): Another solid staple bourbon. Hardest decision between the 1792 and the JJB so I called it a tie.
Wild Turkey (4): Similar to JJB and WT but with a substantially harsher finish.
Russell Reserve (1.5): Clearly the runt of this litter. Very harsh finish with minimal taste. Not much positive to say about it.

Funny how people's taste buds and preferences are different. We did a blind taste a while back and Russell's Reserve won out over Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and Weller 12

Interesting take on John J. That's actually one of my favorite bourbons, very enjoyable to sip on for me. Glad to see you're branching out on the bourbon trail. I really need to step up my scotch game at some point too.

OK... Fine... I will force myself to try it again tonight just to see if I gave it a bad wrap. The things I do for y'all.

None. Yet.. All she saw was the volume I bought.. Not the prices

I'll have that discussion once she's a few glasses of wine in

How dare we ask you to enjoy bourbon. We are so selfish. Man we are just the worst.
