I guess you could continue to see this with a glass half empty mindset...but wouldn’t it make your day a whole lot better to instead see it as we intend? That our aim in doing the raffle the way we do it is to protect the integrity of the event for people who shop with us more than once a year?

We’ve had FAR more positive feedback than negative. That said, if I can somehow serve you gentlemen ANY other way...don’t hesitate. I’m here to serve, not piss anyone off...

Is it not possible to simply track the spending of customers via a rewards program. You earn points with every purchase and based on the number of points earned determines how many tickets are allocated to each customer for the raffle. This would encourage spending in your store throughout the year and reward loyal customers.

While this is a great idea, what you’re talking about would be a tremendous undertaking logistically for a small independent account such as ours. That said, I like it and will ask around for ways in which it could be implemented.

Right now we have the old fashioned loyalty system...it’s called “I see the same people every day/week.”

I don’t mean that snarkily, but most of our customers know me, and I make it a point to know them. It’s served us greatly, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t better/more efficient ideas. Thanks for the input!

I wouldn't worry, man. Trust me the people giving you shite do or would get quite annoyed if an out of towner wins raffles at their regular spot. That's what you're trying to avoid, but since they are the out of towner this time, they don't like it. And from what I read, you aren't exactly turning people away at the door.

It's insane in Houston. People will travel all over the greater Houston and SETX area going to various raffles so they can win and flip bottles.

I didnt have time at all this year. I tried zero...not even raffles or Costco.

Got a Stagg, numerous GoT scotches, several weller 107 picks, and a WLW...I am happy.

To the extent Irish whiskeys are included here, put me down for a strong endorsement of Jameson Black Barrel. Very smooth with a clean finish.
