What are you trying to buy?

Me? Nothing. I get mine locally. My friend just got into enjoying better bourbons and he asked me that question so I posted it here.

eta: not sure of anything specific that he's looking for.

Is 16 stagg as good as years past? I got a call tonight that I am good for an 89$ stagg from my store. I can't believe I actually got first choice usually I'm lucky to get even a handy and got nothing last year.

Wick, after talking to him he told me what his current favorite is. I found it online at qualityliquorstore.com. You familiar with Jeff Reserve Groth Cask? Is that a fair price?

Nope. Found that place when traveling up to visit a buddy in Memphis. They had all 10 recipes. Will be stopping by there again next time I pass through. Wish I would have bought more.

Good deal. Yeah, they usually make some great picks. They've been making great picks since before the bourbon boom. They're supposed to have a big tasting of all of them at some point, which should be awesome. Lincoln Road in Hattiesburg always has great picks as well.

I'm glad you have all of those bottles because I once showed your stash pic from the old thread to my wife to justify my collection.

She hasnt said a word since then.

I've done the same thing with my wife by showing NOLAGT's collection

Unfortunately, a lot of the local guys use me as that guy which doesn't help my case.

I don't know anybody who even knows anybody who can get the premium stuff, but this cool tin High West mug showed up in my mailbox today, so that's something. :)

Of the ones I've had:
08>14>11>16>12>15>13

16&12 are pretty close, I'd pay $89 for any of them though.

While discussing different years...15 OFBB still one of my favorites. Was happy to see a bottle on the shelf at Olive or Twist tonight.

Still $20 a pour? So worth it though. One of my favorite bourbons that I don't own.
