The thread doesn't bother me a bit. Just curious why whiskey needs its own permanent thread when nothing else in the food/drink world gets one.

And not only is there no Charter 10 there is no Charter 8. I've swapped allegiance to the good folks at Bulliet...

im assuming its a new one cause the store he got it from is one of their regulars for wine and it had just come in. do these have date codes like PVW?

There are two versions of the date code layout, each with its own decoding schema: Pre-2012: K2250910:22 In this example, the K = the bottling line, 225 = the 225th day of the year, 09 = the year bottled, 10:22 = the time bottled in military time. 2012 and on: B1312011:11K Here, the B = Buffalo Trace, 13 = 2013, 120 = the 120th day of the year, 11:11 = the time bottled in military time, K = the bottling line. Prior to 2007 Buffalo Trace wasn’t using Date codes, so it’s a little tougher. You can see the timeline for more clues.

How about you send me a couple of these rare experience bottles of bourbon to make lamps out of?

You could leave just a sip in it to inspire me.

It either was or was very close. I remember a hurricane thread a while back on the OT that got about that long.
