How can we make our boring whisky sell? I know! Put a bird on it!

I'm gonna go in for one of those raffle tickets so I can pose that OFC in front of my sweet backsplash.
1PD: Dickel 9, a Christmas gift from my MiL, I think I'll keep her.

1PD: White Chocolate Russian and "Scrooged" with the Missus. Somehow this became our thing while waiting for the kids to settle on Christmas Eve.

My local today had a handful of Stagg Jr. on the shelf for the low, low price of 79.99, and an un-priced Elmer T. Lee sitting next to it. I asked the old guy that runs the place how much and he said "99." Without skipping a beat, the young guy that works there said "Ouch. Don't drop it on your way back to the shelf!" I mean, those prices don't even make sense!
Instead I picked up a Rendezvous Rye Barrel Select they're selling for the same price as their regular Rendezvous Rye, and it's good stuff.

I got a bottle of that EC10 pick waiting for me in BR. Called in a favor because I didn't know if it would still be around when I get into town next week!

Whoa. Think there will be any left the week after Christmas or should I call in a favor from my relatives?

I don't know anybody who even knows anybody who can get the premium stuff, but this cool tin High West mug showed up in my mailbox today, so that's something. :)

Time for very first W12 pour.
Enjoy! I haven't seen that around me in nearly two years and I'm down to the last half of the second bottle I bought then.
1PD Rebel Yell 10 Year Single Barrel. Age stated wheater, apparently sourced from Heaven Hill. Only a few sips in but it's pretty good already!
Also, the last two years I've made the mistake of only buying one bottle of the MWND when it came out. Didn't make the same mistake this year!

You guys might like this. I visited my brother in Norway this summer, this was the entire Bourbon section of his local liquor store. Jim and Jack are about $50 a pop, Four Roses Single Barrel is about $70! Bulleit is 'only' $35 so that's his go-to when he can't get to duty-free in time.

Say 8, have one of those heading back my way tomorrow. Along with a Rouses BT pick. How is it?
I'm curious too. I saw both of those in August, picked up the Eagle Rare but haven't cracked it yet. My first Rouse's pick so I don't really know what to expect.
1PD: Highland Park 15. Workin' my way through the Scotch cabinet before getting back into the Bourbon.

Agreed. That 12 year they have right now is maybe the best one I've had. A great value for $40 IMO.
I'm sippin' some of that 12 year tonight!

They did have some bottles of Rhetoric 22yr for $169 (750ml). How off is that? Is that what people are paying retail?
Also, first store to find WLW Antique. They want $39 (750ml) for it. Is that also jacked up?
I was in the expensive-but-super-convenient shop next door to my office (in Austin) yesterday. They have a Rhetoric 22 behind the glass and I *think* the guy was asking $149, but he rattled off a handful of them pretty quickly. I think their EHTSB was $75? The had some Weller Antique for $34, but last time I picked one up it was $28. Sounds like your store may be 10-15% higher across the board than mine?
I picked up a Rhetoric 22 from TotalWine for $99 but I think that was a TOTAL fluke. Their website let me buy it online at 9:30am and pick it up after work. I told a co-worker a few hours later but they had already listed it as sold-out by then. Probably the best deal I'll find for a long while!
