Everything else...rum, barrel aged vodka, gin IPA’s...

Not bourbon...

ETA: to be completely clear bourbon is yesterday’s news

I said that in 2017. The market stabilized, then covid happened.

The bourbon craze isn’t going anywhere anytime soon I’m afraid. IMO it’s going to keep going for years to come and suck bottles that win awards into its vortex. I have been watching it slide for the last decade and the quality of some bottles along with it.

Agree with Martin’s. I was uptown Nola yesterday and stopped in the Barrone store. Asked about it and he went in the back and got the last 1.75. Happy to have it, and will taste and compare to the Elios this weekend.

Martin’s

My favorite place. I shop the one in Metairie alot. Been uptown once but only because it's further from my house. Martin's is the real deal. There are certainly others as well but no doubt Martin's is one of the top ones.

I echo all this. I live in Houston, and I still probably buy more from Martin's than anywhere else.

It is indeed a great store. I live northsore, and I find the one on 190 just doesn't have the same selections as Metairie and BR. I don't get southsore much anymore, so I don't get to stop in that Vets store. I'd like to grab the 1.5l, but I'm not driving down there to take a chance.

I'll stop at the NS one this evening and see if they do indeed have any and just didn't want to tell me on the phone. I buy from them sometimes (barrel picks and Wilderness Trail), but the two girls that always work there don't really know much. They are nice people but not very knowledgeable of their products.

Maybe gin or tequila will be the next craze?

Already struggling. There is an agave shortage I believe.

ETA: I’m enjoying this one, it’s unique for sure, and definitely a heater.

Several people I know have been getting into mezcal, which can be made from any agave, not just the blue.

2PD, man down, had to take a step back

ETA: going from Dovetail to WSR really shows the lack of depth in the WSR. Such an abrupt finish.

I’ve really just been getting back into bourbon for the last couple months and WSR was one of the first bottles I picked up. I really enjoyed it, but this is the first time going back to it from my initial pour (yeah that was a long day), and it just doesn’t compare to some of the other bottles I’ve been drinking lately.
