I do not like it. Bought a bottle about a year ago and could only use it for a mixer. I agree with you that the name weller is the only reason it sells. It drinks like K&B plastic jug whisky.

I will say it again: you can’t beat Revel Yell 100 for a wheated. It’s $18 and better than any of the $15-$30 wellers. It drinks well above its price point.

More that too many have overhyped the Wellers and forced it into a ridiculous shortage and aftermarket price gouging. Sorry but it’s just not worth what we are being told it is.

I honestly thought it was good when I drank it by itself a while back, and then I had it behind something that was actually good last night.

It's not bad, but it's probably priced right at $25 or so, no way I would pay secondary prices for it.

This is such a bad take I almost requested admin.

I'm with you Mouth... I don't get the hate for WSR. I think its one of the best bang for your buck bourbons if you can get it for Retail. I mean, Early Times BIB and WSR are all the way up there for me ( ER when you can find it too)

While we're chatting bang for your buck, Evan Williams BiB/white label deserves a seat at the table...

That's the beauty of it all; palates are all subjective. Maybe I'm just aggravated at the lack of bourbon options now due to this crazy run and the resale on secondary markets. I'm sure that's clouding my judgement and forcing bias to be honest.

Wild Turkey must just hit the right flavor profile for me. I love most stuff they put out.

Just grabbed a decent bottle for sipping recently, and it frustrates me to hear it's becoming popular.

Start with a solid mezcal cocktail...if you don't like the smokiness it brings to the drink, yeah, you'll never like it.

If you like the cocktail and decide to give it a shot straight, make sure to make yourself a sangrita to go with it. Sometimes fruit based, sometimes tomato based, it's like a chaser that highlights the flavors of the tequila/mezcal. I've never been to Mexico, but apparently sangrita is very ubiquitous anywhere people are drinking tequila.
